Well here is the latest update. The body has been cut and the frame fitted to where it will sit. Mocked up motor and trans and made motor mounts as well as a cross member for the trans mount and the rear trailing arms to mount to. Made trans mount and added some pipe to tie it all together. Run into some trouble with mounting the steering box but we figure out a way to mount it and ended up cutting all the stock mounting bracket off and are now in the middle of cluing up the through the rail setup we came up with. The dodge box was tight to the flatty and we had to do a bit of trimming to make it fit between the block and frame rail but it is in there now. The grill insert showed up for the 32 shell as well as the shifter. You want to see something that is tall!!. Like to say a special thanks to a local Ray Joy. Ray is a fishing buddy of Andy`s and owns his own body shop. Ray took the wheels and prep them and painted them a flame red. He put over 30 hours into the wheels and I must say what a job he done. Thanks Ray. Next I have a old drag racing buddy Jerry drop by my shop yesterday and I was telling him about the Hambandy build and how it came about and how you guys have stepped up to the plate and sent all the parts. Well after he left he must of got to thinking about the whole idea and call the shop some time later and ask what we were running for a trans. See Jerry make a living rebuilding transmission. I told him it was in need to be rebuild and he offered his services to do the job. How cool is that. Another Job out of the way. All in all it has been a good few weeks seem it is taken longer them we would have liked but the little car is putting up one hell of a fight but we are determent to not let it get the better of us. Here is a few pics as well as the link to Andy`s pictures.

Lots of work going into that Model A...and it's all volunteer...and that's one hell of a build to be "giving away"...I'm pretty sure these guys will need more parts for that car...what have YOU got to donate...???

Thanks guys, for all the work - and your continuing efforts on Andy's behalf.

Most all of us know that gathering all the hardware is the easy part. The real "heros" here are you who are committing their time and talents to the assembly of this cool little car.

I know it may seem like many of us have moved on. Maybe so for some, but a whole lot of us have you hard working stiffs in our thoughts all the time. Keep up the great work, and know that we understand the value of what you're doing - and the personal sacrifices you're making along the way.

This has to be the coolest thing ever involving the HAMB group, and in the end, it's 95% because of you guys who are willing to actually dig in and do the hands-on work.

  12. Much respect guys. This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a long time. Almost restores my faith in mankind. :D

We're glad to be able to do it!
It's actually great fun to work together.
Fitz and I have always worked solo, but the HAMBANDY buildup has pulled us together as partners.
Might never have happened otherwise and it's working out really well.
We easily bounce ideas off each other and then form a plan to make the required modification or installation with no fuss.

Tonight we could only get a couple of hours in...so after mockup I disassembled the column and shortened the steering shaft while Fitzee made the box mounting bracket and fitted it to the frame tube.
Glen dropped in for a bit and cut down the mast jacket.
Everyone had a job amd all went smoothly.

Now that we finally have the rearend itself figured out I expect we'll see a roller soon!
THAT will be a milestone in the build.

    Thank You HAMBers.
YOU are the ones who are making it possible. ;)

  16. You guys are doing a great job, Fitz. Andy's goin to have a cool ride there. Talkin to Roy last night before he headed out to the A&W. I will be heading home for a couple of weeks soon and hopefully will get a chance to drop by for a visit. Brendan.
