Hi all, Does someone of you guys have a picture of where to install an oil pressure sensor. I read that it should be below the distributer and also below the carburator but exactly where? Thanks! /Andy
Theres a small plug in the block, just follow the dist down and its right below. At best you will only get a max of 6-8 lbs. Its not a pressure system. The pump only transfers oil from the pan to the valve chamber, and its down hill from there. More important to pressureize the center main. Its fairly easy, most a shops sell the fitting already made up. In most c***es, the center main is the first to go.
Thanks Ice Man, I have already bought the gauge and sensor. And the gauge is already placed under the dash in a holder. How far down is the plugg on the block? Is it between the dist and the manifold or? Thanks! /Andy
Look directly below center of intake manifold...follow straight down towards oil pan on the slight bulge in block that houses the oil pump. Plug is in a raised boss about 1" above oil pan flange. About dead center on block, endways.
Thanks Bruce, As always you have the answer. I thought it was this plug but I wasn't sure enough to try take it out. I have also a water temperature probe that I'm gonna connect to the inlet pipe and after that I'm hopefully ready to hit the streets. Must change the lamp bulbs and fix the horn aswell, otherwise the polices will surely pull me over. Thanks again! /Andy
