Finally man'ed up and joined the H.A.M.B.! My name is Lance and I've been reading and learning from the H.A.M.B. for the last couple of years. I'm the team manager for Independent Truck Company (skateboard trucks if you didn't know), founder of Slap Magazine and contributing photographer for Slap, Thrasher and Juxtapoz magazines. I've been into cars my whole life, but it wasn't till I moved from SF to LA that I got a driveway and a garage to start working on my own stuff. My Dad drag raced his '71 Camaro at Budds Creek and Capital Raceway in Maryland from '67 to '81. Good memories. Here's a picture of the Indy Truck, built by Skot Randall, that's been dedicated to the memory of the founder of Independent, Fausto Vitello, who p***ed away April 22, 2006. It's a 1940 Ford pu, 3" chop, '39 Zephyr fenders, Chevy 400/350 turbo. The truck is also a celebration of Indy's 30 year anniversary. We'll be auctioning it off in the beginning of September, with the proceeds going to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. We'll also be driving it around the country from May 23 till July 4th skating tons of parks and having free barbeques (check out independenttrucks.com for our where'a bouts). Everyone's welcome to join us. Thanks again- Lance
welcome to the HAMB most likely I'll see you June 9th in Wilmington NC then... the Indy tour will be at Eastern...
Great truck and great trucks!! I've skated nothing but indy trucks since the 80's! Still have my first set, although they are broken. Welcome and love the zepher fenders on the truck.
Lance, Great to finally have you on board here Thanks for bringing the P.U. to the California Screamin car and art show at the Gasoline gallery in El Segundo last weekend, it was great to finally see the truck finished with the all the Indy logos! This truck is pretty awesome and i'm stoked it became the mascot for this 30th anniversary skate tour. I'll see ya soon, still packing my bags, see ya in LA. then off to Phoenix and Houston. Built to grind! Peace, CAB
great looking truck and I hope to see it in person, I was in VANS Skatepark in the OC this past weekend checking out some of those great pics of some of the OG riders from back in the day that are around the ramp area and brought back some great memories from back in the day of boarding
Welcome. I am a skater too, but longboards. I make my own custom boards too. Anyway, I really like your truck, mate. I'm from Malibu/Calabasas area. Awesome truck!
That's awesome. You guys will be in Houston for the grand opening of the skate park. That is one of the best things that has happened for the skaters here. Not only that....it's only about 5 blocks from the Darkhorse Tavern where we have out first Sunday HAMB meets. That also happens to be a first Sunday. We will most definately have to try to get a few hot rods out to the park. edit- My son says we'll be at the skate park first and then I go get a beer with the boys. Pbbbfffttt. Teenagers.
wheres this new skatepark going to be at in Houston? and when is the next Houston HAMB meeting? I'm about 5 minutes from the Darkhorse.
welcome, Lance. I love the Indy '40-- and think it really represents "built to grind" like nothing else since the skateboard truck itself. i may be taking my nephew and daughter up to SF when you guys take it through that neck of the woods... -scott noteboom

I figured Steve would know (whats up Steve missed U at Paso Maria) Its Dawes right I think we have spoken before re. salt flats. That 40 is ****ing sick man way cool, only Indy would get that right. Hey whats up cant Lizard or Dyet talk you guys into coming to Salt Lake? That tour is to ****ing good to miss come this way guys, you know you want a photo op on the salt with that truck. Anyways welcome aboard from a fellow Indy rider for life.

Hello Lance, My name is erik johnson from Minnesota and I used to produce a skateboarding/punk television show from 2004-2005 called SCENE TV and had Indy as a sponsor. We aired the "book signing" commercial to 3.5 million households in the upper midwest on broadcast teevee, which was cool until a so-called FCC violation for running the Duane Peters "Who Cares" commercial got us canned! Since then I have moved onto other things like my current do***entary film project on the Midwest chapter of the Lucky *******s Car Club (see trailer here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmQFHyjeEV0) and still try to skate regularly with my boys for fun, which is extra rad when we roll up in the 50 Merc Coup! Anyways its super rad to see your truck and who knows maybe I'll try to make it down to Milwaukee on the 25th unless you have plans to drive up to Minneapolis after that! Is Keith Wilson still around? If so tell him erik johnson from scene tv says hello! NHS is hands down the best skate company around! Cheers, erik
Wow - Sunday June 29 in Lincoln City....thats on the way home from Billetproof! sort of....it will be. Is Tommy Guerrero really going to be at this? Love his skate style and music......not as much as Cabs though. Sounds like Im loading up the kids in the wagon Sunday afternoon.
