Any Customized 1957 T-Bird's out there??? Pic request. My wife's new car

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Chris Casny, Jun 2, 2008.

  1. My wife has been fanatic about 57 T-Birds, so we finally found one. My question is, has anybody ever customized one, or should I leave her's alone as is???
    Picture request.
    Thanks, Chris
    Here is her's

Looks great - no port hole in the C pillar is extra nice. Just enjoy it.

Didn't Doane Spencer do a custom T-bird? I remember a R&C cover about 92,93,94 that had a really good looking T-bird with a 32 roadster on it. I carried it around junioir high til the cover fell off. Both cars were black and were piss your pants perfect.

When I show my Bird in custom show I remove skirts and
    install custom wheel covers.

in my opinion, there's nothing that can be done to improve that car's appearance. Change it, yes, but not improve it.

I'd say maybe put some different wheels and lower it,but I wouldn't customize it. Hard to say...I like it though!

I remember seeing this T-Bird at Famoso...CHRR 06? I think. Anyway, sad thing was the following Monday I was on my way to Van Nuys and saw it on the side of the road, burned to the ground with the exception of the back portion of the car. That was the only reason I was able to recognize it. It was a sad sight.

    Kustom T-Birds are *****in'...

Chris, that's a really nice car. Maybe some white scallops, outlined in gold pinstripe... Ah hell, what do I know? It looks great as is, maybe a little lower...

  13. Man, you just answered my question. There are cars, that don't need anything.

I love this car, had it on a calender last year. Nads and I used to drool over it all the time. :p Kinda sick to chop up such a nice car, but I will say this. My buddy has done a few 100% resto's, for people down in West Palm Beach. I got to drive them and was not impressed. Hopefully a Kustom upgrade would make it drive-out better.
BTW...you must have one cool chick.

My wife loves a black '57 Bird; in fact, that and a Cameo are the only old cars that she likes. I'm happy for you and your wife.

Here is mine. It's a survivor and has been in the family since '58 so I didn't want to cut it or modify it in any way that could not be put back easily.

Geez Chris, would I be on the money if I said that your trip to Australia was just put back 10 years........

Worth it for that car though, well done!

    And M S, I'd own yours in a heartbeat.

  28. Yeah, a minor set back, financially, but why the hell not, gotta live alittle.
I'll make it to OZ someday, going to Europe next month, to visit my folks, etc.
But it wont be 10 years until I terrorize Sydney.
