Yep, Whites. Not cheap by any means and not easy to get but they are good.
Popular with the loggers and forest fire fighters here in the Northwest. They do mak a lot of different styles. http://www.whitesoutdoor.com/ I learned about them when I worked in a muffler shop and the guys I worked with had them.

  3. i was a die hard DOC's man since the 90's but something changed in the last 5 years or so. i dont like them any more. they're not punk enough.

i finally broke down and bought a pair of Wolverine 8289 boots.

by far the most comfortable pair of boots i've worn in the last 18 years.

i think these are the same boots that the construction guys who walk around on rebar wear.

they're like clouds or pillows or something. and it seems like they weigh half as much as Docs.

Vans when @ Idle, Redwings for working.

  5. When I was in the driveline shop every day, I could wear out the best work boots in a year's time. The best service and comfort I have had has been from Justin lace up work boots and Red Wings. In both of those cases, I double up on the padded inserts.
I still wear Justins every day.

    Redbacks made in Australia...

I finally got tired of dropping stuff on my feet while wearing Vans slip-ons, and bought a pair of these after talking to several people that recommended them. I've had my pair for about 3 or 4 months now, and they are very durable, comfortable and steel toe to boot. I've got the pull-on Easy Escape version. They only come in wide widths, so I had to get a thicker insole.

I think most Matco Tool reps carry them.

  7. I have been wearing a pair of"Engineer boots" 'motorcycle boots" what ever you want to call them..bought at the Harley shop..steel toes..and all..Been wearing them for six years now and they were $200.00 when new..I work on concrete floor every day and its about time for a new pair so its off to the Harley shop again....

I've only ever had one pair, and they went 'missing' when I had party shortly after I bought 'em

    BUT

my dad swears by them. He's a farmer, been wearing Merrels for 5 years, every day, and loves them. Hell, the USSF wear's them and if they are good enough for the special forces they should be good enough for just about everyone!
