I went to a farm to look at a 32 Ford frame. The guy had some decent stuff.

Geez Paul, how many undiscovered farm stashes could be left around there? You seem to find a new one with tons of cool stuff about once a month.

What makes the roadster an AR? Looks like regular fenders to me.

I would like to own that truck with the high cab.. You just don't see many of those anymore. I don't think I ever seen one fully restored.

The emergency brake is probably to the left of the clutch pedal on the drivers side frame. That's a big sign of an early A.

The earliest 28's had some left over 27 T parts on them and are considered AR's. They will have the left hand E brake handle, red steering wheel, red distributor cap, little different wheels, etc. Sometimes the parts are harder to find and more expensive. The real Model A restorers highly value these cars. Hot rodders don't care. Either way, it's a cool roadster.

Just wondering which parts were on this car. My bro is BIG into A's, and I've learned a bit about AR stuff from him. I can spot an AR rear fender from a mile away, and a front from a quarter mile. :) He's even tried to teach me the peculiarities of the different hood sides (three different AR versions?).

Did this car have the solid front mount, or the lefty brake handle? Steering wheels, generators, and hoses have probably been changed a few times by now.

Geez, I sound like a restorer.

Oh, I got you now. Hell, I didn't look that close. The price kind of scared me.

That would be a 46 Chevy cabover or COE. They make great custom haulers as you know.

No he will sell whole vehicles and they won't be cheap. But why should they be. This stuff has been bringing good money at auctions around here. Let me know if I can help you buy it from him.

  22. It amazes me the things people expect guys to part out. Some nice builders there.

The front fenders look early to me. The rears are obviously not beavertails. The doors don't have outside handles which is correct, and the cowl sides firewall lip does look to be the early shorter variety. Beyond that I can't make out any other early stuff.

Yes, there were 3 different variations of hood sides produced in '28.

And no, I'm not a restorer. I just really dig Model A's.
