heres one for everyone. alright heres my truck (photoshop has been done once for this pic) what im thinking about is making a custom fleetside bed that follows the same shape as the body. lets see if anyone can make something that looks cool. looking for kind of a early cameo style. thanks.

or maybe even a semi-step side. (i dont know. ive got good bed sides just cant find a decent set of rear fenders for less than $300.i am not going to pay that much, i bought my truck back for $500.)

nope. i want something that looks custom for that era. if i wanted to run a new bed i would just keep the S10 bed.

I would look for the sides of a panel truck of the same style. A little more work but in my opinion would give you a better end result. Using a newer bed just looks really out of place(stupid) on these trucks.

brick, i bought it back. sold both of my old cars to get megan a good dependable car. so i got my old truck back and am combining it with my current daily driver a 92 S10.

elplymono, i kind of like the look of that, i was thinking something with out fenders all together, but ive got a set of mid 60's VW rear fenders i could use the fronts of them and do something to the backs of them. anyone up for that challenge?

the cab on the 47-54 is narrow...
,if you 'made' a fleetside bed to MATCH the cab,,the front fenders would stick out a foot wider on each side,,,,(or at least look like a foot wider)

there really is no way to have a 'fleetside' bed on a 47-54 without it looking ****ed.

It appears to me that even with fleetside sheet metal the front fenders will still be much wider than the bed.

I have a set of early 60's Dodge trk rear fenders that might work or could be cut down as desired. I"m not that far from you, if your interested.

cool. glad you voiced your opinion. have decided to run rear fenders. realized that with out the rear fenders the front would look a little out there with out anything in the back. thanks for the help. thread done...
