I know there are alot of quick cars out there, but whats the highest speed you have ever achieved? Spending my teens in Utah I have been 219 and I'd like to do it again.

8.53 @ 160.7 1/4 mile. I fixed a friend's dragster that was breakage prone and he let me make three p***es in it. I upgraded my NHRA license to Dragster status.

P.S. That RED was not as much fun to ride as my altered.

Funny how significant numbers like that stick in your mind.

I think about 560mph or so is what the Captain said on the lightly loaded, red eye with a nice tail wind coming home from SD a few years back. On the road it was about 150mph riding shotgun in my friend's '99 Camaro SS. Some jack***es in a bone stock Honda minus the exhaust canister and bodykit thought they had something for the Camaro. We dropped them within a couple of seconds and just kept on going. The Honda's headlights disappeared. I'll never forget that. Or least I haven't yet and that was about seven or eight years ago now.

I gotta story simailar to that one, except the other way arouond. I was riding with a guy over in Germany coming back to base from Frankfurt, we were running about 140 in his 440 Charger. A guy pulls up along side of us in a Porshe, smiles, drops it down a gear and disappeared! Holy ****! We used to joke German's only have one car accident, because they're always fatal.

stormking, that's funny, a similar thing happened to my buddies ridin' their crotch rockets. They're clipping along at around 130mph out in the middle of Montana back when we had no speed limit. Two exotic sports cars who were racing each other p***ed these guys like they were standing still.

There is the idea that there is no such thing as too much power. But when you can totally disappear from the contesting car at a 140mph roll on, I think you may be approaching too much power. That is crazy. I realise that the Porsche was probably more modern, lighter weight, and probably more slippery. But that is still crazy.

Also on the autobahn on the way to Frankfurt, I went about 140 or 145 in my 1990 Mustang GT 5.0 (it was a little bit modified).
