I need a little bit of help to finish my T. I have a issue with my brake hoses I am trying to go with a rubber standard brake hose not stainless, braided, etc. is there anybody out there that has these? I have placed an order through SPEEDWAY and all I seem to be getting is nothing but a runaround.they need to be a 10mm on the caliper end and 3/16? on the line end. I have tryed looking at every brake book in my local parts store with no avail like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

    Aftermarket 4x4 stuff works.

  3. you need to find a better parts store...a good parts guy would take your measurements and look in the back of the book and come up with it

Check around in the area for hose making compaines. We got a guy here that does a/c brake hydrulic and most anything else. Bet you got one in town.

  6. The 10mm on the caliper end is for Camaro discs?

I looked around for a set of black hoses a while back, but all the ones the parts house showed me had a metal collar in the middle.
The metal collar had a piece that bolted to the frame/body mount/whatever on Camaros.

Since it's 10mm, I wonder if some of the foreign cars/trucks could have such a hose?

Right now I'm thinking a 12" hose would do it for me.

Not trying to highjack the thread, but I'll be watching it to see what you find out.

A side thought I had would be adapting the 10mm fitting to SAE inverted flare and then using a black hose for an American car....

I have checked with various auto parts stores in my area and I have found a couple possibilities they will get here on Friday, we also have a parts store in town that makes hydraulic hoses but not brake hoses I'm thinking liability issues. If I find anything that's going to work I will get part numbers what it fits etc for future use

A FLAPS here in town stocks "EIS" their picture book for hoses is close to 200 pages. Got a idea [OhOh} 10 MM is .400 ,7/16 is .437. Some hoses are 7/16X 20 . Tap out to that use copper washer to seal the hose at the caliper. A lot of modern brake hoses have all sorts of weird brackets etc. made on them. Another idea ,early Ford hoses are male 7/16X20 -female 7/16X24 adapter fittings are made to reduce the female to 3/8X24 . This is for front axle hoses.

Fatman fab has a page of helpful part numbers for hoses, etc in the back of all his catalogs, and most of the brackets on the newer hoses are just pinched on, easily removed

  12. You might poke around in a junkyard full of '70s and '80s cars and see if you see what you need, then make a note of what year and model car has what you need and buy a brand new one.

Places that sell race car parts often have a good selection of adapter fittings for brake lines and hoses.

The guy at my NAPA store went in the back and made me some in about 5 minutes. They were cheap too. Much better to have new ones than poking around in a boneyard for some critical parts that may be on their last leg.

  14. Check with a Chevy dealer that deals with meduim duty trucks. You have 84 C-60, you need the hose between the frame and rear axle housing. The truck has disc brakes, single rear axle.
