i got this 215 inline ford 6, and wanted to know anyones experience on another carb option instead of the ****ty holley 1904 single ****er, distributor is the original load-a-matic, options for switching it out to a single or duel point mechanical would be great, as i have seen that some single and duel carbs dont have the vacuum advance capibilites, i do have quite a bit of 97's and 94's
I dunno what you want. There's an endless amount of information at your finger tips with a little effort. Try http://www.pertronix.com/prod/ig/default.aspx for your distributor or http://www.cliffordperformance.net/...?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CP&Category_Code=F300 for your carburetor conversion. You have to e-mail Clifford for their catalog. You won't find everything they offer at their website.
I think the 94's or 97's would work with no problems...sh!t everybody runs them....and there has to be reasons why....cuz they work and the look awesome multi-carb
I'm gunna run dual 1904 gl*** bowls on my 223 in my 54 mordoor. the big thing with the 1904's is that you have to rebuild and tune them properly. then they're no problem. but I've also found manifolds and adapters to put a single 2 bbl on the old ford 6's. I don't remember where but start with offyparts.com . . . kinda spendy, but there are other sites out there. I just love the 2 single barrel setup.
with an after market manifold just one 2GC rochester carb would be as much or more cfm as 2 single barrels. depends on which one you get. A large 2Gc is about the same cfm as a small 4 barrel. or you can use a carter or holley.
I plan on running triple gl*** bowls on my '52 215. These are some good links for performance, dress up parts and general information about these engines...
