Judging from the background, that would be the spectator packing lot.

    Yup Rockwells,
And yes the streched disaster was in the spectator parking lot, along with a REALLY nice 52 olds convertiable that should have been in the show even though it was pretty stock.

So, 500 cars and two bitchin' museums to visit were not enough? Sorry you have a problem with respecting Big Daddy's rules. It is HIS property, after all. Mike

Thanks, I built the 38' Ford Truck.

I built a custom chopped and slammed frame for it originally which was under the 39 ford truck at the show with the white wall 21" fronts on Beach white spoke wheels. However after building and driving the "A Bomb" , Blown model A like the P40 warhawk airplanes and a total of 5 different vehicles for the last 5 years at Billet Proof Detroit, 1950 cadillac (Flat black and Sparkle blue scallops and blue roof) The Rock City Chop chop F100 Step Side, and the Flat Red and Black 41' Ford tudor Delux..... I flet like doing somthing different.

The truck has 2-1/2 Ton Rockwells, a BBC 468 Motor on Race gas, Turbo 400 Trans with a 3500 RPM Stall and a NP205 Twin Stick Transfer case. I had to trailer it because of the tires and the fact that I built my own Orbital street hydralic steering system. That was the first distance that I ever drove it into the show as I was up past midnight for the last two week leading to Billet Proof to get there and sprayed it in the dark of my driveway around 1:30 am Saturay Morning.

Yeah, if I...oh I mean HE had a deuce frame under it!!!!:D:D:D

I am pretty sure that I did not see on painted car in the whole thread. Probably not the best PR for the Billet-proof show. I feel like I have to take a shower after looking at this thread. It was just filthy.

I have a 46 Ford Tudor I was going to just put on a 4x4 frame just to have something cool to take to the badlands and destroy. I doubt I would get that carried away with it though.

No disrect meant to anyone here. I drove down to the Billetproof show in Florida in March and had a great time. The setting was awsome, the museums were the best and the cars them selves were great.

I have not been to Detroit but I have a hard time seeing where it is a better show than Florida was in its first year. I am sure it was fun, but the caliber of cars there versus Fl and the setting of the show dont seem to compare.

Like I said, I mean no disrect to the show promoters or Detroit or anyone in attendance.

All kidding aside if you look in the background in some of the pictures, I see a bunch of H.A.M.B. worthy rides.

Since when was the Billetproof Florida show "anti-burnout"? We didnt have a burnout contest at FL because there is nowhere to do it in Big Daddy's backyard, and yes the show is held literally in Don's backyard.

If you cant have fun at the Billetproof Florida show there is something seriously wrong with you. Don Garlits firing up a top fuel dragster, the museums alone are HOURS worth of entertainment, the turnout is great, the cars were fantastic, the pre-perty rocked... what more could anyone want?

Each show is fun, each show has different aspects to it due to location.

If you think one looks like more fun than the other, then thats you one you should go to :D.

consider this... people take picture of what they like. That is in no way an indication of what the show is all about. People also see what they want when they look at the pictures.

    No painted cars? look again.

Drag Links had a blast in Ocala, Alan did a top notch job there. We had all our cars, met some great people from all over, and got to see all our friends from across the state. You can do a burnout during bike week, Garlits was a great venue.
    Oh and great pics, thanks.

  30. I think it's cool that there are hot rodders (albeit Rat Rodders, traditional rodders or just plain rodders) that are making Billetproof a success all over the USA.

It'd suck if gas prices got too high, the gubment became to tight or young kids just plain weren't interested in these old cars.

The good times are now... enjoy them.

    Sam.

    ps... that 4x4 ROCKS!
