I'll take the blame.........well for Andy i will.........

Cooked the motor...............lmfao, funny how that dizzie gear looked after the 100mph slap back to 2nd and the 4 big bangs.........

Come on Andy, give the birthday boy a chuckle and tell the full story

Happy Birthday Bill, you are the genuine deal when it comes to hot rods!

Now knock the dust off and tell us how old that drivers license says you are......

    Alright i'll tell it leon.....

Me and Dad a couple Of local car's were cruise back show. We were in our 48 ford pickup. The trucks alright but dad made it in to a street rod. it's got a 351 windsor with aluminum head. Very fast motor. anyway when we were on our way back we were head to head with a 52 chev. anyway we were doing about 60 mph and dad decided to drop it to Second(automatic tranny) and he launch it:rolleyes:....... we walk AWAY from the chev and dad shoved it back in to drive. we were doing about 120 mph and dad let off. As soon as he did she shut off Followed by 4 Big BANG's. So we had to get a ride home in that 52 chev( Same car we were dragin with). so we get the thing home and take the distribtor cap off and on one side of the gears Was Smooth and the other side was like a razor blade. So that was how the first run of the year went. Dads not sure on what to do with it only strip it down and see were all the shaving went. Oh well look on the Bright side.......Look at the story i got to tell:D

Well done, Andy. And you'll remember that one for years to come so you can drop it in one of those opportune times.

"Hey pop, remember that time you blew that dizzy to hell and back?"

    Priceless.

    Well...I sure wasn't expecting this!
    Thanks Andy and everyone!

As for the Hot Rod...no thanks needed little buddy. Some of the best nights and Saturdays I've had in a while...with some really great guys!

I was even at it for an hour or so tonight at my place.
Shhhhhh....(I sneak stuff home to play with on the "off" nights. ;) :) )

I had to bring the split bones to Fitzee's shop for mockup before they were fully finished, but now that the front end is out again I pulled them clear and took them home to finish up.
    Should be complete for Thursday.
I welded up the drop brackets tonight too, so we can get those shaped up and gussetted tomorrow night at the build.

Can't wait to see it rolling back and forth and bouncing on its springs!!!!!

Chris...sorry to hear about your truck. Odd its giving trouble...I hear its been babied most of its life....LOL

Leon...that licence is WRONG. No way I'm...........:)

Hey Roger...good friends = good Birthdays. I had a great one!
