Well guys & gals, only about one month now til the 2nd annual S**** Drive rod show/swapmeet in Belvidere, Illinois. It's on Sat. June 7th. ..hope to see a lot of you there. ....some members of our club took a Spring Shakedown Cruz yesterday (Sunday). We had 12 cars in the group, met for breakfast in northern Illinois, then crossed into Wisconsin and put on around 180-200 miles, all on backroads. The weather was nice and we had a great time. ...one of our stops was at a county park up on a bluff where we took pics of everyone with their cars. We also "kinda" duplicated a famous photo,...the one with all those punks lookin under the hood of a 49-50 Mercury; but we used my 48 Chevy Fleetline for a prop. The guys wanted to show off their new club jackets. ...hope all you guys have your rods up-n-runnin and your cool old parts ready for the show/swap. See you there!

...forgot to mention; if there are any pinstripers out there who'd like to do some paintin at our show, you are more than welcome to come and set up. We should have some stuff for you to stripe which we will auction or raffle off later... and some of the entrants mite want some stuff done. ...just show up at the gate and let us know you're a striper. We have a building you can set up in.
After those guys were under your hood I am surprised the car still ran. lol If I would have went in the 46 that picture would have been real. he he ha ha Looks like everyone had a good time. Anymore pics?

So, what is the "Host Hotel" for us out of towners?!? Has anyone booked a block of rooms yet? Cause as much as I like to drive, I'm not pulling another all nighter this year... After the S**** Drive its over to the Blacktop Baron's Road Block and then to the Voodoo Kings cruise night all in the same day/night?!
Well Just canceled are rooms for Indy, so I guess I will be there too . Hope you don't mind being 2nd choice LOL
Louver dude, ...we don't mind being 2nd choice at all! Bizmon,...we don't really have a headquarters hotel, so you can pick anything you like. There are dozens of motels on the east end of Rockford less than 10 minutes from the fairgrounds. ...I've been gettin several calls a day on our show, mostly swap meeters, which is great. A lot of calls from Wisconsin and Iowa. With the price of gas, there may be more locals comin this year instead of goin to Indy, etc....

Hi, Sam. I'll be there. Finally got the weekend off from work.. Just don't know what I'll be driving. The engines are out of both the 59 and 60, so I may have to take the 55.
Well last weekend the Rust Revival was a friggin blast. It is time for another car show. So if ya did not make it to the RR you should get out of the house and come to the S**** Drive this saturday. If this one is to far you should get to the Blacktop Barons show then.

I think i actually met one of you guys inside striping up a truck... my paint was in my falcon. If i was in a better mood ( my car was soaked on the way up, and its only in primer with no sealer) i probably would have joined you guys.
