That is cool! Lots of pics... lots of thought went into that one. here are some cool lego rod pics from a few months ago: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=245236 -W
I read about that a few month ago... The is a program on thr LEGO homepage where you can build your own car virtually and then purchase the kit on the internet... I think this guy hast this done...
that is sweet... one more way to introduce the kids to our hobby/lifestyle at a young age. What can go wrong?
Cool! I loved Legos as a kid. Set the foundation for my interest in designing buildings and structures. Now I'm tryign to get into the business after completeing college V2.0 (2nd time around). Cool Lego toy for sure.
I have two or three of the small Lego off-the-shelf kits of old cars...all needed a small aesthetic fixup, mainly getting the front axle line moved forward, and then they looked great. Somebody just needs to tell Lego that on an old car, you just can't put the front axle abaft the radiator!
I dont think this is a set you can just buy, somone made it, its a custom. I heard its got some rare parts also (rare lego pieces).
Just checked out the Lego site...REALLY need to stay away from costly diversions like that! Went to the Indiana Jones stuff, since I just saw the movie. No roadster, alas, but they do have the Ford amphibian, motorcycles, and trucks that are neat as-is and offer all sorts of early rod parts possibilities...they even have the Soviet lawnmower. "factory" appears to be the design section. Scary. This could be as costly and absorbing as hotrods...but cleaner.
Check out the vehicles here: http://indianajones.lego.com/en-us/Products/IndianaJones/7622.aspx The trucks especially offer lots of roddable parts...lose a few feet of wheelbase, lower, rearrange axles... I like the Ford amphibian, too...build a copy of "Half-Safe"?
They had some at one time that were about $5 bucks. It was a little bigger than a regular Hot Wheel. It looked like a little orange 33 or 34 Ford coupe.
