My car has rear parallel leaf springs with a perch to perch centerline measurement of 43 1/2. The axel I would like to install measures 44. Is this too much of a differance?

If I'm not mistaken, there's a centering hold in the top of the axle/spring perch that is a bit wider than the center pin on the spring pack. This alone should give you the required 1/4 inch you need to center the axle, so I'd say that you'd be fine.

The car is a 31 Desoto and the axel I'm wanting to use is an 8 3/4 Chrysler product.

  5. Make it fit. You need to check your pinion angle with this set up. If it is off you will need to relocate your axle perches anyway.

It might depend on how much it is off - you might be able to just use spring pinion type correction wedge - if that is the right terminology for it. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to do that on my Dubble A once everything is said and done.
