1939 Ford pick up...stocker. i am thinking drop axle up front and a little lower in the back.. Got any pics post them..
Here's a few.................mostly 'streetrodded' but some are OK. http://www.rasloto.com/gallery/gallery.html
HOLY ****!!! I don't have any pictures to contribute but I would sell my soul for that truck. Definately drop it a little bit but PLEASE don't chop it.
What a clean truck. Do not make a Rudy Truck out of this one please! Great find and good luck. CheaterJack
Looks like its already a little lower in back than the front? Is that the case, or is it just the pics? You can get your axle dropped by Sid and remove every other leaf for about 4" of drop up front with out too much h***le. Out back, drop every other leaf from the pack and mount the rear spring hanger as high as possible on the frame for about 3" of drop. Or so Im told.......
No CHOP! No Rudy truck. it is staying like that other than a little lower so my nose stops bleeding. i would like to do a rake like Ryan`s car...
Don'tcha love it when you get a new toy, and everyone immediately starts tellin' you what you shouldn't do to it?...**** it...it's your truck, do what you want... ...but if you *Rudy* it, I'll kill you...
Love your truck Squiggy. Bone stock is gorgeous. Adjust the stance (spring & axle up front & spring only in the rear) & add a set of 6.00 & 7.50 blackwall 'Stones. Then stick a fork in it. You're done. JH
k, hurr's whut ya gotta do my man get rid of dat bed, completely. Chop the **** outa' th eold girl, make her look like she's got a uni-brow goin' down (we all love dem hairy faced ladies amirite?) shorten the wheelbase till it look's like a hunchbacked rat, stick da most god-awful grill eya can possibly find on 'er and then let it rust to ****! OR drop her a bit, then drive it!
basically a Rudy truck is a fenderless slammed down chopped pick up truck 35-39 Ford pickup.it was one of the first "modern" well built truck (not a RAT ROD).i am sure someone will disagree with me but that is my interpretation of it.
You got it.i am sending the axle and spring to Jordan here on the Hamb to lower the axle and flip the spring.and i was thinking of Blackwalls that exact size i also found a complete set of artillary wheels
All it takes to make that perfect is getting the nose just a bit lower than the back. I did an "OH WOW" when I opened the thread.
Does your truck have steel wheels or Wide 5's? If Wide 5, they are close enough to "artillary" to make the swap not worth the trouble IMHO. I'd go black on black on black if it were mine. If I were forced to paint the wheels I'd look at a chocolate or mocha color. Something darker than the wheels on my '38. JH
WOW, I just stumbled on your post squigy. You bastid, that truck is a fantastic start. Go with your initial ideas...it'll look frikin awesome!! Good luck with it and put some pics up when you get going.
