I saw that chrome paint out as SEMA the year before last. I was told that there was $20K in materials on it and the process goes like this : do all your body work and get it perfect enough to lay on a gloss black paint job that you can't sand. Then you apply the "chrome" wet enough to flow right off the black, then your color an your clear. Then don't even think about doing any spot repairs!

And Dave's rusty '32 was once owned by the late Carroll Sleeper who raced another '32 sedan in the W's at the drags. Notice the expensive hood? Bet you didn't notice the Teas seats under the blankets, the digital gages in the windshield header panel or the TCI chassis. If you live on the right coast you might have been passed by it on one of its many trips to Florida!
