I just finished rebuilding and putting a new carb on my car. The last one had a lot of issues. I noticed recently while I wasn't working on the car that I missed working on it. In some sick way I wanted something to happen so i could fix it. It seems while I am working on it all I want to do is drive it but wile I am driving I want to be working on it. Mabe I just need another project. Either way the car is running great as of now so I am out of here.

Does anyone else feel this way or am i just nuts?

I drove my '62 Bicayne from St Louis to Indy and back last weekend for GoodGuys. By Sunday night I could not wait to get out of that car. I think I was burnt out with my car from a last minute ****** swap 3 days before leaving for Indy and the long wet weekend. By Thursday I couldn't wait to drive the sweat box again and try to break it :D.

Yes it's a love/hate thing, *golf playing-homos don't see what gear heads get out of it but luckily some women do. It's the disease we have.

*golf playing homos - people who drive new Hondas and Toyotas and there only "hobby" is playing piss-poor rounds of golf on the weekend and they do not understand why others don't do the same because it works so well for them .

Can anyone of us understand why the people that would rather play golf than build/work on/drive a hot rod? I do understand the love/hate relationship a man has with his car. There have been times that I could almost take a match to mine. Later, I believe I'd rather have it than grandkids.

Love for me is cruising around with the wife and kids on a beautiful day.
Hate is standing on the side of a country road, in the dark at 4:30 in the morning, and you have 10 minutes to get the car running or you will be late for work.

Funny how we are OK with getting stranded with our old cars, every once in a while.
I guess that's part of the attraction.
Keeping them going down the road.
Definitely weeds out all the guys doing it for the wrong reason.
They get tired of dealing with these issues and fall by the wayside in short order.
