Just picked this up a few days ago. Took two days and got it running and driving. Still needs some fine tuning, but its a lot further along than the other one. A bunch of the pannels on this one that are bad, are good on the other one. Yep it defenaly smokes a little. Gunna do a compression test and hope that its only one that has bad rings. Other than a few things plans are to use this thing pretty much as is as a work truck for the house, until the house is done. What'cha think?
You don't mean "didn't do cars anymore" do you? Oh and BTW, that is not a car, it is a truck. In any case it's a nice project and you probably don't deserve the young lady in the photo.
Damn... you're right... I mean "didn't do cars"... oh well. Thats what happens when you type fast and don't re-read what you write.
Excellant. Welcome back to life. Does this mean we might see you around a bit more? If you need any help you got my number.
someone has a smile on her face now that her truck is on the road! congrats...hope to see you guys at dixie fried.
Well I still am trapped at the house while on reserve, so I still don't get out much. Dave did you guys end up moving?
Thanks... The bondo is only on the front fenders, which will be comming off and being replaced with fenders from a parts truck that I have.
Nope. Still in Roswell. Couldn't get our house sold so we decided to pull it from the market and wait.
Mike, If we could do burnouts in the HAMB Hauler with the JB welded block and home made open drive conversion, this one should be able to do it too. Good to see the wife back in a project.
Hey Jeff, What type of oil filter system do you have on your 6? Is it a remote filter? I'm still trying to figure out if I have a 216 or early 235.
sounds like a 216.... whats an oiling system on a 6?????? it's burried in a box somewhere for the last 7+ years....
Yep... Based on another thred I have, I'm pretty sure I have a 216. AND! I need new rings on every piston.
You got one laying around you want to give away? Oh and I'll need a new rear end, transmission, drive shaft.. etc.
You know how you have that can of 2 cycle gas laying around and it looks like the regular gas? Yeah... Well turns out the truck has been running on about 2.5 gals of that stuff. So needless to say since I have now put regular gas in, it is smoking a lot less.
