i read in another thread that the mid fifties fords have the same lug pattern as ford trucks through the 80's. Anyone know if the same is true for a 52 lincoln?
yeah,,,I used a pair of Lincoln wheels on the front of a 65 Ford pickup,,,in fact they are still on that truck,,,HRP
I can put the wheels from my '95 F-150 on my '54 Lincoln. They changed the lug pattern when they went to the new body style around '97 or '98.
52,53 and 54 should all be the same. But if i measured right, center of thread to center of thread it came in at 5.25. I think all the ford trucks are 5.5? maybe my measuring was off, found this on a webpage 5 on 5-1/2 (139.7 mm) AMC - Jeep (5 bolt) '42-'89 Chrysler - 8 cyl. & wagon '46-'55 - Imperial '54-'66 Ford 2 ton van Ford Bronco, F100 Ford - all '28-'48 - full size P.U., van, Bronco '49-'89 International Scout, Travelall Lincoln - all '52-'60 Mercury - all '39-'51 Suzuki - Samurai '86-'89
bolt circle is 5 on 5.5" common mistake when measuring wheel bolt pattern is measuring "center to center" but you need to measure "center to outside" and your dimensions will come out correct.
thanks, does it matter the width are all basic wheels for full size ford truck/vans a good size for a 225/75R15
looked into it, the tire mfrs suggest 6-7" wide for a 225/75 or 235/70. I'm going to call the salvage yards tommorrow and see if I can find a set of 15x6's which is the stock size.
i found 2 5.5's and 2 6" wides. Put the 5.5s up front because they balanced better. The backspacing must be different because the 6's leave about 1-3mm between the skirts. Heres the close one, it rubs.
