I have been looking for a 32 5 window for what seems like forever. I finally found one that was the right deal. The guy was really nice and he did a good job of tracking down some of the history on it. From what we can tell, we think it was started in the early 60s(maybe late 50s). It has been passed around a lot over the years. I think the guy that first started building it did pretty good, and then some of the other owners got it and didnt do as good of a job on it. I think it was on the road at one time though. The best part is it has a clear title. Its pretty rough, but it is a steel 32 ford and an old hot rod. it was about 4 hours away and the whole way there I kept thinking I would get there and it would be a chevy or a model a or something I was a little disappointed that it didnt have the original frame, but surely I will have an easier time finding a 32 frame than a body. Now I have to come up with the money to build it Heres a pic of the grille when the guy was tracking down some of the owners, he found it. This guy was about 5 or 6 owners ago, and he kept the grille when he sold it. So the old owner still had it and he gave it to the owner before me because he said he was glad someone was going to do something with that car. (hope that makes sense, like I said it has been passed around a lot)
Congrats and a great story. Something tells me that the owner this old girl has been waiting for to finish her has finally come along. There are no doubt a zillion little things you can do to make her better for little or no money. Then when you do get the pocket change to get serious, you'll be just that much further ahead! nice score man i know the feeling...I found my 32 5w word of mouth...the whole way there was thinking the same thing..never saw it till the dude opened the door I had to stop an open my trailer on the drive back b/c i could not believ I had a 32 mine was on a tci frame and that was traded for an O.G. roller now mines going on the baddest frame man can build BLEED .666 mine was so filled with bondo....its so cool tearing all the tasteless mods of those cars with sortid pasts and reaveling 32 ford... looks to be a channeled north east car...the doors tell me that...leave em...common in the new england are in the late 50,s was on a tci frame and traded that for an O.G.
Good for you, glad you finally found a '32! Now you need to deside how you will build it, keep it channeled or bring it back as a hiboy with stock doors. There is a lot you can do with out spending a lot of money, stripping the body to bare metal would be my first step.

...I will be redoing the floor either way(it was done kinda crude)...but I really want to keep it channeled...I definately want to take it down to bare metal(maybe media blast it, not sure yet)

It is a great feeling when you finally get a '32 after looking for a long time. I still remember what it was like when I got my first one almost 40 years ago. I kept going out to the shop and just looking at it, to make sure it REALLY was there. Frank
wow thats great,and a cool story on the grille. there must be loads of uglified dueces out there waiting to be de-seventied.probably the best way to get into 32 ownership at the moment. American Graffiti has a lot to answer for.. I dont think there could be a worse colour for a 32 for than bright yellow.
does anybody have a stock 5 window they could measure the door window opening on? I was trying to figure out how much it's chopped...I would guess it looks about like 3" or maybe 3 1/2" but I can't say for sure?... does that look about like a 3" chop?
Apparently yours must be a lot nicer than mine. I hate to look at mine because of the amount of work it is going to take. Ha ha ha
Congratulations on being another 32 owner!! Can't tell from the pix if its channeled or not, but if its still "stock" & you want to run fenders, one thing you might want to remember is deck lids & all 4 fenders are interchangeable with the 32 roadster.-------------Don
What are the tailights off of, a 79 Fairmont or something? They almost look like trailer lights. Nice find but that's thing has been in the hands of some deranged folks.
Congratulations on joining the Deuce owners club ... I think you will find it is a sickness ... and one that you do not want to be cured of. I can relate to that ... I still go out to the shop sometimes and see my 32's sitting there. It is a feeling that is difficult to explain.
yeh, it's channeled...I was wondering if the decklids interchanged...the one on mine is just homemade. Thanks for the information

Hey Congrats on the find. I know just how you feel I went and looked at a ton of 32's that turned out to be model a's when I was hunting mine.
I'm very happy for you to find a DEUCE. Before I go off on a rant, good luck finding a frame. I've been advertising for one on about three sites and have come up empty. Looks like you got a really good start.
