My boy's '50 Chevy Bel Air. This is going to be fun. It has an Olds Cutless clip under it but we are either going to swap it for a Mustang II or put shorter a arms in it to bring the front wheels where they need to be. Does anyone sell those? It has the Olds engine in it but we are swapping that for a 350/700R4 combo. He want's to build a lowrider out of it and bag it. He want's it metal flake candy lime green with a silver top and Astro's...........He's eight by the way.

Fat Man Fabrication has 2" narrower tubular a-arms for the cutl*** (malibu same) front end. He has dropped spindles which use stock disc brakes if you want it real low.

Man, you're a great dad. My old man would just have looked at me and said, "We'll see." or more likely, "No."
    Happy Father's Day.

  11. Nice gift for your son. Good job on thinking ahead, he is not too long off from being a teenager in need of a hot rod.

Why do you want to get rid of the Olds engine? It is an excellent long life engine. If you want the overdrive, use a 2004R. It is another often overlooked trans that will give excellent service if built right. Everybody and their dogs put Chevy engines in everything they can. Why not be different? Also the Cutl*** clip is a very nice riding front end. If it is installed right, leave it in. Much better than any MII front end that you want to use. Think it over before jumping off and destroying your frame just to make a change.

lets put it this way, if you can get any of your children involved thats a big bonus

all they want to do is video games!!!!!!!!

my 15 yr old son finally has come around to helping dad on the car

my 11 yr old son dont give a damn unless its a video game

my 3 yr old daughter loves to work in the shop with dad, and mom hates it cause of the dirt she ends up into, especially if shes in white

Sorry oldspert, didn't mean to offend.....lol......

The Chevy 350 is easy to find parts for. Expecially for a teenager who will be driving the piss out of it and may need a fast fix in the middle of the night to get home.

The front end will probably stay, it's just too wide. That will be fixed with narrower A arms.
