Hi. Cleaning up my Dad's estate. Found about a dozen gl*** fuel filter sediment bowls,3 or 4 different sizes. Also found about 1/2 that many bails. One complete Carter fuel filter. I remember the gl*** bowls on tractors and lawn mowers. How old would an auto be to have had one? Any market for em? Thanks. Uglymailman
I've been doing some work on a very original '56 Dodge pick-up. It has one on the pump and another up by the carb. They were not uncommon into the '60s, I believe. I should remember for sure, I was there!
I love 'em. They are a pure 50s visual clue that you don't see on many hot rods. They work and they are practical. I collect them and rarely spend over 15 bucks for an odd one. The coolest one I ever had was a Stromberg. It must have been from the 20s. It didn't have a gl*** bowl but the whole thing was cast bronze. Not br*** but bronze. It looked so cool when it was polished.
I have one on my Chevy 216, but is there suppost to be something in it? Of co**** there is gas, but a filter?
i have a old holley 1 bbl with a gl*** bowl attached to it, never used, and the filter meidia is still like new, the media is in the float bowl will post pics tomarrow when i get home
i was there in the 60's too i just dont remember it so well//but i believe most major commpanies phased out the gl*** sediment bowls end of 50's with maybe a few holders thru the early 60's
