Sorry about the size of the pictures!

I'll take a shop crane anyday!

Thanks to Crab for taking these pictures and
helping me out with pulling this thing! Without
the overhead crane, I'da had to unload the car
off the trailer and do it here in my driveway.
This way, the motor gets pulled and lifted right
into the back of my truck all in one fell swoop!

....& to think, I was expecting to open this & find a swingset, some old seatbelts, & an ATV.

What are the plans for the wagon? I like it.

Essentially, for the mere cost of S**** (about $300) the complete wagon could be yours less motor and trans. Otherwise, as unfortunate as it is, the old girl is going to the great boneyard in the sky.

Please post it in the cl***ifieds.

I'm too far away & have too many projects already but at $300, someone will buy it.

It's posted over there along with other prices for pieces. The fenders and doors
are super solid on this thing, but floors and rockers are toast. No hood, and
some rust issues on the rear gate, but otherwise would make a good builder.

If I weren't knee deep in projects and looking to make a few extra $$$, I'd
keep it for Momma Gozt to drive and haul kids and dogs around in.

I've also got the original (as you saw it come out) 322 Nailhead and Dynaflow
that I've got listed over in the cl***ifieds. I'd rather it go to someone who'd
    save and use it.

Geez... I was going to say something about stupid people, but I will
    refrain.

Okay Skidmark, if you would have looked, I did apologize for the pictures.
And.. had you read the post and looked at the bottom
you would have seen that they weren't taken by me.

    Sheesh...

Nice hoist. Make sure you dont forget to take out a motor mount bolt. The truck, the trailer, and the wagon will be hanging from the rafters. That thing is like fishing with dynamite.

  11. This angers me greatly. Just Sunday I was with my buddy at the junk yard in the pouring rain pulling a 401 nailhead with an engine lift. not fun at all

Poopstain... skidmarks... I've got an 8 year old boy so they appear the same
    difference.

I didn't resize the pictures as they aren't mine, but were taken of me. All I did
was cut and paste the link. I know it is nutso to have them this big, and that's
why on my own photobucket setup it auto resizes everything. Unless there is
this magic resize ****on on here somewhere..... ?

Are you using Photobucket? Resizing is easy there IF you are a paying member. I have 2 accts, one paying one free. The free one its hard on, brings you through all different movie trailers and pounds your ***cheeks with ads, and doesnt really let you edit ****.

    That wagon looks nice!

This definitely the easiest way we pull engines. The 5 Ton bridge crane actually works better than the 10 Ton we used, since the hook is not so big and the 5 ton unit has a little better control. I have also used the forklift and that works pretty well also.
It actually took longer running back and forth to the fridge to get beer than it did to pull that engine....:D

The photos are on PhotoBucket Pro, but they are resized down to 1600X1200, so I just use the thumbnail option when I post. I don't think Gozt had the option to get the Thumb code from my account.

Thanks for the re-size effort, but big *** pictures for a big *** 5 Ton bridge crane, I think it's works.

Bet you didn't even need to unbolt anything, just rip it out. Nice! They might as well cast DYNAPIECE'O'**** right on the top of the trans.

Ahhh!!!!! I understand needing the money (really I do) but it's a shame to see it go to the crusher. Surely we can find somebody local that'd take it. Do you know Joe Kerker? He might be intrested. I'd jump on it but I've already got 4 cars in the backyard and two in the shop.

btw, if you are using the free photobucket account, when you choose the file you want to upload you will see a "reduce to option" below the "choose ****on" set it to 800x600 works really good for threads like this.

But enough about, photo this and that, let's get back to the manly car stuff...

I guess I don't understand why you pulled the engine & trans if you're just gonna sell it anyway. Is this a mine's bigger-n-yours thing?

We used to have a 5 ton unit at the dragster shop. I can tell you that it will lift a big block chevy, and the nova it's still attached to with 0 strain on the motor, and faster than you would think possible. :D

Yeah, I guess your right. If I had money I'd probably have a 50 acre private junk yard of all the cars I "just couldn't p*** up". It's sort of the automotive version of the crazy cat lady with 50 cats stinkin up the house.

You know, I'm surprised I haven't seen anybody market a smaller version of this kind of hoist for the home shop. I know it seems out there, but I could see a scaled back version working for the serious hobbiest. Heck, guys have 2 and 4 post lifts in their shops now, they probably seemed pretty wacky 20 years ago. Actually, done correctly, I could see a winch/hoist attachment across the braces of 4 post car lift working. Just place a beam on it, raise it up, move the car underneath, ect. Then again, I could be nuttier than squirel turds.....

I hate to do it too, really I do, but if I had the room.... That's why my wife wants me to move to the country. She WANTS me to have my own stash of cars. Damn I love her!

Thing is, I pulled the motor and trans to sell them. In fact, the idea of parting the car out was the only reason I bought the car, and mainly for the motor. I'm a school teacher and currently doing this type of thing for extra $$$ while I'm off for the summer. This post was about the comedy of pulling a 700# motor with a 10 ton overhead crane.

And everyone is right - if there was a bolt attached, the entire car would lift up - and IT DID! Leaning against the fender and feeling the car slide sideways on the bed of the trailer was a surprise.

However, if someone wanted to purchase the entire thing, I'd add the motor and trans back to the deal. I'd rather see the old girl go back on the road down the ways a piece, but again - I'm doing this for the money. I can kind of equate it to bottle feeding a calf back when I was a kid. My sister would get attached to it, and I'd look at the calf as steak-on-the-hoof!

If someone wants it, then so be it. PM me and let me know. Otherwise, PM me your requests for parts, and we'll go from there.

You mean like my little one here? :) Seems tiny after looking at that huge trolley.

Guys, guys... Don't give him hell for sayin he is gonna s**** the car. He's trying to part the car out, not crush it for the s**** money. Check the cl***ifieds.

He's honest about the condition of it and not askin much for the parts at all. It seems like a bunch of guys are quick to jump on him for sayin he's gonna crush the leftovers.

As I said, I don't want to crush anything. Anyone who wants something, let me know and I'll make great deals on it. I know its worth more in pieces, but I don't intend to make a fortune off of it. Mainly I'm just trying to get my time back for pulling the stuff off.

I don't feel like anyone is getting on me for this. If I had room, this old girl would go back on the 'row' and sit and wait for me to get a bug up my **** to build a wagon, and then I'd be off to the races!

Buy the parts to keep your rides going, or buy the entire wagon and keep it on the back burner at your place for your future project.
