Man,Trent I was counting on meeting up with you again.Let me know when you come to MN,we'll have to have a party or something.
I'll be moving the Shaker to its new home on the 20th, so chances are I'll be moving the shop equipment and tools the rest of the weekend...you guys won't miss me, what with the other 60,000 ***holes at the show to deal with...
Grady, Scoop, it has been a long time since I got to hang out with either of you I will hang out with Northlanders again, sometime.
Been there many years, Missed last year. This year will be first time as a participant though! It'll be the Falcon's maiden voyage to the twin cities. Picking a scenic route from Wisconsin, hope to make it there and back, and avoid any white knuckle interstate driving. It'll be an adventure for sure.
will be there 3 days will try to find the meet and greet, good time to wear the HAMB t shirt???? hope to find some friendly faces and hope that my car is not hated by this group??? do you just park on the street by the horse barn??????
If you can't find any other way, you could try Megabus. http://www.megabus.com/us/index.php It's a super cheap express bus between Chicago and Minneapolis. I just checked, and at this point leaving Chicago on Friday and returning Sunday is $30 each way (the rates vary, depending on how far ahead of time you make reservations.)
If you get down there early enough Sat there should be parking. I'm hoping attendance will be down cause of gas prices,so there will be parking room.Yes wear your HAMB shirt.
park anywhere ya want until somebody says to move it!middle of the street , double park ,triple park on a one way ! hey its 10,000 + cars! good luck gettin near the horsebarn to park after noon on sat its near the coliseum/birth center where the big auction will be going on car owners and spectators are everyfricken where there will be parking at the curbs and double row right down the middle of the street you'll wonder wherethey all came from and where they all go to?
If it jives with anyone else's schedule and a caravan is happening, I plan to leave Thursday morning, time TBD (prolly early in the morning). So, I'll be there for the first time since '95... instead of a '62 GP Ill be in a '62 Catalina Safari wagon... rust over turquoise with black rims and poverty caps...I will try to wander over to the 'meeting area' to introduce myself. BTW, hey, Stuart! I hope we cross paths in MPLS this weekend.
wow - almost 11,000 cars again! I really thought it would be down this year with the gas the way it is...... that is good to know. Remember to stop by and see either my wife or I at the Vintage Torque DVD and Magazine Booth - and we will have our normal spot up in the building by the water tower as well Seeya there!
Just cuz there's that many registered does'nt mean that many will be there.Last year I registered two and only took one. With all the weather disasters going on in the Midwest I'm sure that will affect the attendance too.
Tok!! you better come. I aint come'n all this way no to see you there!!! 100% of the time you dont shoot... you wont score... come on buddy this is about you too. it wont be the same if your not there.
considering the attendance #s for the other shows I have been going to this year - ALL the shows are down about 20% so if this one winds up being down the normal 20% - that is still a LOT of cars
hey guys, This may have posted elsewhere, but if not, be advised that WESTBOUND I-94 from exit 287 to exit 259 is CLOSED. (this translates into closed between Wis. Hwy 83 and Wis. Hwy 89) If you're coming up from Chicago you may want to take US-12 to Madison and then rejoin I90/94 toward MPLS. I am leaving Thu morning; if anyone will p***ing thru MKE Thu AM and wants to caravan there, please PM me. Safety in numbers (plus I am a pretty good wrench).
