Backing plate ID

    What do I have here?? I was told it was 53-56 ford truck backing plates?? If so shouldnt it work on my speedway ford spindles?

    Is the bolt pattern correct ?

    The pattern looks to be 5 on 5 1/2 the hubs seem to work too but the bolt pattern from the backing plate to the spindle is not the same I'm starting to think its off of a 57 It says bendix and fomoco on it but I cant find a number

    I'm not much help, but I thought the round style was earlier, like 40's and the more sqr style was 41 to 48. I do no know much past the diff in the two. You might add detail to your ***le and draw the guys that know. also, wait a few hours and let the board do it's thing. Bump it every half day or so to keep it fresh.

    No, those backing plates are not 53-56 F-100. Probably later.

    go online and check it in the dennis carpenter catalog. lots of good diagrams in his catalog.
