I'm trying to find a list of places people hang out at on regular basis'. I know of Porky's, which the last I was there, seemed to be a bunch of punks just wanting to race their newer "muscle" cars against slower imports to prove how cool they are.

What are the other drive-ins that people hang out at? I know there used to be one in Orono, and Turtles in Shakopee had one every third Wednesday last year (still going)?

Also, where's the best place to get info about upcoming car shows?

    See you at BTT50s!

Try http://www.autoswalk.com, they have lists of car shows and cruise nights, organized by state. Click on 'cars and trucks' then choose either 'events and shows or 'ongoing cruises'. The one I like is the one in downtown St. Paul (10th and Kellog, right on the river bluff) on Saturday nights. It's a nice venue and pretty low key.

  3. Here is a fun idea we did when I lived up there. My wife worked at an ***isted living place (by that Red Barn in Brooklynn Center off 694). We brought in a bunch of old hotrods and restored cars for the residents. Served hard Ice cream, sat back and listened to the stories! GREAT TIME HANGING OUT!! Not what you were really asking about but worth doing each summer!

Minnetonka Drive-In Thursday nights, it's between Mound and Spring Lake Park, also North St. Paul has a good turnout...Porky's is usually a waste of time...

We hit the new Porky's on Central, just south of Lowry a couple weeks ago. Small parking area though. Neat to see a NEW drive in being built. Rumor has it there is a Sonic coming to St. Paul sometime in the near future...

Earl's Drive-in in beautiful Roseau, Mn - just a short scenic 375 mile drive from the twin cities. They serve an awesome ice cream cone called a "little ****". That alone is worth the drive. You also get welcomed by some very pretty blond Scandinavian can hops.

Yeah, there's a new Sonic ont he east side on Suburban across from Byerly's.

There's also a Thursday night deal at The Pizza Shop on Dodd road, just west of Smith Ave. VERY cool vibe - live music, wide range of local cars. buncha bikes, too!
