I think there will be a "show and Shine" at the Galaxie theater in Riverbank this weekend. Pretty much just street rods around here courtesy of the Modesto Street Rod ***ociation, but it's something to do. Also a bout an hour east is the Berhing Auto Museum in Danville. Best museum ever.
Go check out Bell & Gaines (209-521-9400), a better speed shop will be hard to find! IMO Tell Bob Rocky sent ya.
What to do in Modesto?? 1. Start a Meth lab 2. Pick up on pregnant high school drop outs at the mall 3. Surf the c****s pulled behind an ATC (I actually did this one) 4. Grow a mullet 5. Get out alive All kidding aside, its hard to believe this is the same town that Gene Winfield and George Lucas once called home. SamIam & I went both sorta grew up there, and let me tell you, not much to do back then. I rode dirt bikes, skate boarded on my buddies ramp, and worked on cars. Best things were the Model A swap in Turdlock, and Graffiti Night (which the city shut down years ago). I think the traditional hot rod scene there has improved quite a bit in the past few years. Good luck and viva la 209!
There's an old school A&W drive-in (one of the last I think) down town and they have a cruise in on Friday or Saturday night. Nothing super cool, but a few knowledgable fella's there. Jive-bomber about has the rest summed up.
Or, I could give you a personal tour of the Frito Lay plant. Eh? Eh? Just kidding, work ****s and I wouldn't be caught dead there if I wasn't getting paid.
Join a skateboard gang... and fight other skateboard gangs... MAKE SURE YOU CALL IT HELL TOWN!!! It's one of the few places I've had my **** stolen out of a trunk... -ns
Oh yeah... it's close to Stockton which ****s a little less... at least there's a handful of cute chicks at the University of the Pacific, or whatever the hell that school's called. ns (man, I didn't know I harbored this much hate towards Modesto until you asked... kinda scary)
Yeah, Hell Town is not to be messed with. Although the couple I know are pretty cool guys. Hey out east on Yosemite Blvd. there is a place called Cl***ic Dreams. A yard filled with everything from a 2006 Chevy Silverado to a '34 Roll Royce. All for sale, all in various states of deacy. He's got a Winfeild/Barris built '39 Pontiac. The guy has a distorted sense of Value (don't they all) and he's always got a fresh Bud Light in his hand.
They got that really cool entrance arch thing with the "water, wealth, contentment, health" slogan. I kind of dig that it is so over the top odd. Not sure what else other than that. I'm going to go there some day to check it out for myself.
Hey, looks like they have a cl***ic car show on June 25th? Isn't that next Weds.? Odd day for a show. http://www.visitmodesto.com/ http://www.visitmodesto.com/calendar/specialevents/graffiti/calendar.asp http://web.mac.com/scottpet***1/Riverbank_Rides/Home.html apparently, according to the official website: "You simply can’t go wrong in Modesto"

What to do in Modesto? This time of year.................SWEAT! My brother has lived in the San Joaquin Valley over 25 years, I know!
I would not recommend visiting Stockton. There is **** to do here. Last weekend there was a kick *** party at a friends shop. Drug Lords of the Avenue played. Lots of cool cars and bikes to see. But this weekend not much going on. Unless of course you want to... 1. Start a Meth lab 2. Pick up on pregnant high school drop outs at the mall 3. Surf the c****s pulled behind an ATC (I actually did this one) 4. Grow a mullet 5. Get out alive
No the Winfeild/Barris car has been sold. He does have a mid 50's prototype car that was built for the Paris auto show. I think it was a chrysler, but i dont remember exactly. i will post a pic of it when I get home. Looks like we are going to the American Graffiti summer party tonight.
blown240 - are your pics posted anywhere to see? Modesto just had a week of special car events-they are trying
We just got back from the Grafiti Summer Party. Only about 30 cars, lots of Billet. There was a cool Lincoln Continnental from the 30s. I took a bunch more pics. I will post them when I get home.
