Just picked this up from an old farmer up the road from me. Believe me, it pays to live in northern NY. Seems this guy has had this sitting in his barn since 1977, sure as beans, the registration says 1977 NYS DMV. I scored it for, you all ready for this, 200.00. Now here is the neat part, this car is solid as hell. Barely any rust anywhere, he has no idea where the registration is. He says to me" I haven't been able to open the trunk in about ten years and couldn't tell you what's in there", Well, check out what I found, all of that stuff, including that set of four dog dish caps and those bel air hub caps. Now, I know some of you die hard antique guys will shoot me but this bad ass boy is gonna be a gasser. THat's right so any of the old 6V system, suspension, etc, even that neat old hard to find air cleaner will be sold. Check out the classifieds for more info. Please let me know what you think about it.
That's bad ass! I would do the gasser if it where me too. Nice find. Keep us updated with pictures. Congrats.
nice score man, and theres nothing wrong with gassers, good luck i always have a scary flash back when i read, "the owner couldnt open the trunk for years", my buddy bought a 63 galaxie with the trunk key lost and the trunk locked...........when we opened it, we didnt find anything even cool in there.....but we figured out real quick why the old man who originally owned the galaxie went blind........
sweet find, with a hardtop I would be going down the Kustom route but a post like this will work either way.
How bout a 6 cyl gasser? Blue flame style motor, lots of carbs, super T10? Pumpkin with looong ladder bars? You lucky bastard.
You know, I have thought about that time and time again but my childhood memories were of a nasty sounding V8, just can't come close to that with a six
