Ok, I have relocated the stock steering box to give me starter clearance on an early 264 Buick nailhead. Now the draglink needs to be shorter...what is the best way? Cut and but weld or weld a sleeve over the cut ends...other ideas.
    Thanks

Use a sleeve with fishmouths and rosete welds also. Preferablely with a TIG .

Fish mouth looks like > that, rosette is several holes drilled in the side of the sleeve and filled with weld . For that application 2 holes each side of the joint about 1/2 inch would do.

Just a suggestion, don't make the splice in the middle. The closer to the end, the better.

Thanks everyone. Now that I escaped from the 'Big House" (hospital) I can soon get back to the project (for a few hours in the morning before the brutal south Texas heat kick in). I ***ume the link is tubular, so what is the best way to cut it?

Good chance it's solid. Cut it ?? With what ever you got that takes the least amount of phyisical work.

it's solid and if you have access to a band saw it makes the job easier.
