Big Olds looked great at the Eyes on Design show. You're right, it is an honor and you should be very proud!

I'm glad you were able to spend the weekend with your dad. You know what that would have meant to me.[/quote]

Ditto to what Megan said, especially the last part.

Congrats on the invite to the big show.

The Hurst Hemi Under Glass cars are reproductions pf the originals built by the originator of the cars. They are both runners, Isaw the run at Speedworld out here in 2003.

On the return pass on saturday the blown car had the tranny blow up big time! I've got a piece of 5/16 inch lexan that was the rear glass on the car. Bob Riggle even autographed for me! Super nice guy.

He then drove back home to prescott and picked up the injected car for sundays show! That is a dedicated racer and showman!

A treat to see that he is getting some recognition with them.

    Thanks for the coverage.

Right on!! Looks like a great, jam-packed hot rod weekend. Gotta love it!

  11. By brother-in-law and I were out cruising that night on Woodward in his OT 93 Formula. It was great seeing Big Olds up close in person at the Shell station. I think my brother-in-law thinks I'm stalking you ;) because I knew so much about you from reading your in-depth reports here on the HAMB. I'll have to send him a link to this thread. I'm sure he'll enjoy the pics from the Olds show as he and his Dad have a 56 4-door in progress. Congrats on the invite to Eyes on Design. Well deserved.

All cars I saw except this one were all Oldsmobiles. This was Olds powered so I guess that’s why it was there.

This car belongs to Gary and Lucille Price from Lansing. He has just redone the car and it has a long long history dating back into possibly the 60s here in the area. Gary can be seen driving his primer 62 Studebaker Grand Turismo or better known driving his 36 Ford fenderless pickup normally seen at Nats North.

You shoulda called Buckle and went over to Ron's party saturday night for a bit, I wish I coulda been there. Looks like a lot of fun, We'll be at Woodward tonight, hope there is as good a turn out! The eyes on design is a really neat show. And that 58 Wagon at the olds show is simply spectacular.

Denise, we had a great time at Eyes On and even better hanging out with you at the house!! That steakhouse was top notch!! Shoebox Mags and I both had a wonderful stay at your house, and after a whirlwind 6 week thrash to get to Eyes On, it was a welcome rest. Thanks again!

I'll be out there tonight and tomorrow night as well.

Did you make it to the National last weekend at the Dearborn Hyatt Regency? If not, you didn't miss much. Lot os nice Oldsmobiles but mostly, like 99.9% stockers. I think there were 4 of us in the modified class. I was the only 1940-1948 of any style there. I was bored and left by 2pm. Did meet a cool guy with a purple 1949 though, not all was lost.:D

I'm in Livonia, where are you located?

  17. Denise, you need to ride a woman's guidebook to having fun and enjoying the hot rod lifestyle...because as far as I am concerned you are definitely doing it right...I am gonna start printing out your threads and putting them on my wife's nightstand so she can better understand that it's okay for her to embrace our hobby...thanks for the pix and the threads...I always enjoy them
