New Project Underway - '27 Coupster

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by TexasHardcore, Jun 20, 2008.

  1. Sold my Model A pickup cab to a HAMBer, then bought this from a local hot rodder a few days later. Picked up a Model A frame from Du$ty Kartbreaker, and tossed it together for mock-up.

It's a '26-27 Model T Coupe that someone cut the roof off of. Very straight body, needs cowl, quarter, & under decklid patches that I ordered earlier today. Going to have it media blasted soon before I start any patching. Needs minor work to mount roadster style windshield stanchions, going to pinch the door tops and smooth them out, modify the dash

The plan is for a 4" channel, stock A rails (no Z's), boxed, dropped A axle, reverse spring, '42 Juice brakes/spindles, bent split wishbones up front. Out back a '58 F-100 9" rear w/ 3.70's, Model A spring, '46 bent front split wishbones as rear radius rods. '58 Ford 292 V8, C2AE block, '57 Supercharged Heads, Lopey Isky cam, Fenton 3x2 w/94's, Custom headers, Ford 3-spd Manual. '58 F-100 clutch/brake master cylinders, cowl steering with '46 Dodge Gemmer steering box, 4-spoke Bell wheel, '39 Ford big truck shifter. '41 Ford 16" steelies wrapped in 5.00 & 7.50 Firestone blackies.

I have the majority of the parts to get this together, just need to order some hardware, and do alot of cutting & welding. Going for a early salt racer turned street/drag car in the late 50's look. Should be fun considering this is my first car without a roof!
