blown straight 8 powered hudson in springfeild,mo

I was on the hot rod 08 power tour in springfeild mo and saw what looked like a supercharged straight 8 in a hudson, by the time I remembered to look for it, it was gone!! anyone got info

 

It is buick it is gary hart of willard mo.

 

Runs the on the salt, around 140 MPH.

 

Yeah, It looks like a Hudson. 141.272 mph

 

that is one hell of a car

Seen the hudson supercharged, know there is guys running around with Packard 327 supercharged, and a couple of guys with turboed 327's

That Buick ran at the HAMB drags a few years back.........naw, different car.

 

In the '50s there was a guy who raced a blown Hudson named "Thaddeus Toad" at the San Fernando drags. Had a cartoon painted on the door of a huge toad eating an OHV V8. First doorslammer I ever saw pull the front wheels off the ground on the 2nd gear shift!

Thaddeus ran a six rather than an eight, and there was a huge steel reinforcing bar on top of the cylinder head (secured by the center row of head bolts) to prevent the blower from lifting the head.

 

A Buick that resembles a Hudson???? You youngsters better learn to read books and look at pictures. The only way a Buick resembles a hudson is they both have four wheels.

 

And it's a more door! Makes me want to go play with my neighbors 53 Buick more door that's for sale! I was thinking cop car but this is way cooler.
