Might be worth the effort to just throw a tube in that one when it's broken down

The crack in mine was hairline, but was visible. It followed the outside edge of the weld very closely....this was on the rim, the hoop part, of the wheel. Seemed like like the weld weakened the metal around it, and then the stress of driving on the wheel was too much on that area, causing the crack. I can't find any pictures of it though. It was kind of a slow leak, it would take overnight to be flat. Mine was right front too, weird.

  3. I have a tire like that on the 54........it leaked down and I did not notice it one winter due to the way the car was parked. That down time wrecked the tire. There is a good chance it happened to yours and the tire casing is actually leaking like I have found on mine. Just a thought.

I bought a set on Pete Paulson wheels. They stated very plainly that once tires had been mounted on the wheels, they were out of warranty. Great. One of the wheels was slightly out of center but we got it balanced and it hasn't been a problem-so far.

Actually many wheel manufacturers will tell you to check out your new rims thorughly for defects or damage befove mouting them, because once their mounted they're yours and no returns. That includes not only manufacturers of steel wheels, but also those who manufacture high end billet wheels*. (*a product virtually unknown to persons on this site):D:D

Of course that applys to new rims, not used ones as referred to and owned by Haunyawk. And I can understand his frustration, no one wants to see something damaged that you have paid hard earned money for, new or used. :(

I have had problems with the weld pushing the crack as you weld it up, after that incident i always stop drill the crack before welding.

This has been a very common problem with these and they are junk!! Esp having such a heavy car ( a BAD *** one at that) the back of the rims are not properly reinforced. I think if you search under Astros/Supremes wheel threads on here along with the other sites you'll find more details out about it. I know Skoty Chop bought a set & one other guy on www.losboulevardos.com site had the same problem. Dont risk 'band-aiding' the problem with welding them cause its not worth your safety. Make some kool garden hose holders out of those ****ing things!!
Besides a ride like that isnt worthy of those sh!t rims...Save your coin up to get some 14x7 Rev Cragars on that Bad Boy or Rockets!
