living in des moines during the flood i was helping a friend clean out his hangar before the waters came up i got a mid fifties bf goodrich tandem bicycle sure not a hot rod but it is still fun to ride on with my son
With a 57 Chevy front bumper (I think) and an engine stand setting there too, I'm gonna guess you've stumbled on a gearheads stash. Larry T
Finding old stuff in a barn/shed/hanger is like seeing a big fish ... it does not count unless you get it in the boat ... same for the coupe ... does not count unless you get it ... Good Luck
Deuce roadster makes a good point Make it yours, looks very solid, you will then be a lucky sob I will have to stop opening threads ***led look what I found, look what I got barn find etc, they are making me depressed......
You can have it for free - I don't want it anymore, just pick it up anytime between midnight & 2 am.................................... just kidding!
I found one ( 32 5W Ford ) in a hanger ... even more complete than the one shown ... 35 years ago. Sadly, it is still sitting in the same place it was back then. The owner is at least 80 years old ... and still says ... I am going to fix it up one day
nice 5, and deuce, if he still saying that he might be planning on being buried in the thing...35 yrs.. ya one day...
Wow "Look What i found" threads are really depressing. haha. Good luck scoring it its a killer find and if you dont get it just take a ton of pics to show to your kids haha
I am going to do my best to make it mine, but as you guys can attest if he "just dont wanna sell it" or "is gonna fix it up one day" sometimes thats all you get haha. the bumper is off of a 57 chevy truck i believe that is still here in town, also the coupe has the ch***is under it, complete even has the gas tank!
OK, it's been almost 24 hours since you posted this. Where are the pictures of you loading it on your trailer? Frank
It's kind of funny.I was just thinking the same thing that Frank Posted. Is it For Sale or just another Lookie Lou? If its For Sale and you are goin to p***.Let some of us save it. Just Pm me and leave the details if you are goin to p*** this up. I have been lookin for a clean coupe for my kid.
That's pretty sweet. Just the other day I was driving by a salvage yard close to the shop, and I just happened to look on top of this pile of "stuff" was a Model A Tudor, so I locked the brakes up on my poor little cutl*** slammed her into reverse and pulled into the parking lot. I went in and there was an older fella probably close to 80, and a guy in his 30's. I introduced myself told him I saw the A, and he said "there's more than that old buzzard, go take a look if you want" and pointed to the door. As soon as I walked out I was greated by a row of old F1 Fords, and 3 '57 F600's. It turned out there are 4 Tudor bodies, one complete one, a Model A Pickup, and a T pickup. Along with a '68 Mustang vert, an old fairlane, 2 63 Impalas, '58 Chevy Pickup, and more '57 to 60 F100s than you can shake a stick at. Plus a fine ***ortment of Dodge K Cars. According to my dad nothing has moved out of that yard for close to 30 years. The guy just deals with copper now, the rest is for sale, but he won't put prices on anything just yet. He also has close to 60 old cars at his house he said any where from the 1920's to the mid 70's.
hope you score the coupe , them 80 yr old dreamers or hanger oners will be rodding with the grim reaper before they do anything with them old rides ,
There has got to be more to the story. You should have known in 2 seconds if it was buyable or not. Why were you there? Who is the owner? Sounds like the evening news headlines....
The owner of the car is stationed in japan and will be back in the us in a couple of weeks for the oshkosh air show so i will be able to find out more soon. if its not for sale at least i can do is convince him to let me help him build it, maybe make a new friend?
Now that's cool..So many time's you hear how "he's an *** because he won't sell me HIS car"..it's cool to read someone who would be interested in helping built it AND make a friend.. I'll cross my finger's for ya in hope's of a sale..Best of luck. Tony
