Would you use this for your grille?

A buddy of mine works at a laser cutting shop. I was digging through the scrap pile and found a sheet of 1/8" stainless with cross shaped cutouts in it. The pattern looks pretty cool, but I wondered if enough air would pass through the holes. I think it might look cool in a custom radiator shell. Anybody else?

I'd use that in my grille all day long!Looks Great,I'd have thought that it would easily get enough air flow through it.

    I have a confession

It would make your front end look like a confessional.

Personally don't like the look but the idea of guilty women whispering dirty things to my car has some appeal......

I think if done right, yes, it could be used.

Shouldn't have any problem with air thru it......and don't forget, a radiator pulls air from all around it...NOT just thru the grille...

    I'd use either...

If I did, I would paint it black to make it more subtle...Not sure. What are you thinking to put it on?

I've seen that patterned aluminum used over later model LED tail lights to soften the glow. There was a post on here a week or so back about filling in "dead space" behind a floating grille, and I think this could do the trick. I would definitely paint it black to make it more subtle.

Ive used the same stuff on 2 of my cars. It was a big sheet so it did 2 of my grilles. Hard as hell to see the holes in the photos but they looked Identical to yours. In the end it looked great. -Jon

Just my opinion, but, when I see metal like that, I think screen door guard so the dog doesn't poke holes in the screen.

Use it, the perforated aluminum one in my 34 has smaller holes and it doesn't overheat.

    Confessional?
    What's that?
(Yea, I heard of them but only seen them in the gangster movies.)

    Use it.

I'm using one with two sizes of small round holes and it cools better than a round bar grill did.
It's probably got more area of air flow that a stock grill.

That is really cool, and you definately need to keep digging in the scrap pile to see what else you can find. Find some more cool stuff and put it here in the classifieds. But make it cheap, because we know you got it for free.
