I have heard so much good stuff about the JWHarris "Twenty Gauge" MIG wire (which is actually .030 wire with a powdered iron core - not flux). Anyway, it is supposed to be good for sheet metal work. Here is the product spec:

Does anyone know where I can get it quickly online?

I bought mine through Praxair. It didn't seem to be any better than normal wire to me. The add made it look like the magic wire that would'nt burn through sheet metal. Wrong!!

There does not seem to be any on ebay anymore.
I would like to try it to see for myself. I talked to two people who were sure that they thought it was better. I am willing to try it out of curiosity if I can find it.

try any welding supply store or check with suppliers online. i have learned from 20 plus years of welding in the union that if you use flux core wire with the gas it welds like a 7018 rod and works great on welding frame rails and such. i am not a fan of the mig but they are handy dandy with the sheet metal and body work end of this hobby. but an iron core wire that sounds to much like fluxcore if you ask me.

  7. I got mine from an AirGas dealer. I did alot of panel replacement with it I liked it better than the Lincoln wire I was using.

Years ago I read somewhere that Ron Covell recommends Esab Spoolarc Easy Grind. Tried it, been using it for light gauge stuff ever since. It does grind more easily that most mig welds, afterwards the bead can be worked with hammer and dolly like the surrounding metal.
