56 Chevy wheel & tire advise needed please

Now -- the ole 56 looks a little different NOW from what this picture shows -- but it is the only one I can find right now.

The car has been lowered in front and rear about 2 1/2 to 3 inches -- and the long tube headers are no longer hanging down and are not visable under the car any longer.

I want to change the look even more -- and was thinking that some new wheels and tires would probably do the trick.

I'm hoping that you guys can offer some good suggestions....

"If" I were to go steel wheels and wide whites -- what color should the wheels be -- and how wide should the ww's be ?

Any hubcap suggestions ?

Looks great.I am runnin Stock black 49-54 chevy rims with the little dog-dish hub caps on my 56'..It kinda gives it a sleeper look.I will dig up a pic and throw it on here

You have a nice looking 56. If you dont want to go to a different style 5 spoke, you might consider simple chrome wheels.

Simple wheel and tire changes can CHANGE the entire look of the car -- so I want to consider all options

Chrome steelies w/3" ww always look good.But if they are painted I'd also go with the black.

 

keep those wheels, add skinny whitewalls, drop it a little more front and back, call it done. Nice car.
