Got this in a box of car stuff.Have no idea what it is.Box says K-D Mfg. Co.Lancaster Pa.I know that it looks like a radiator bearing muffle tool for a 1956 Volkswagon, but I dont think thats what it is. Any ideas?
Not sure what it is, but I don't think its a seal driver. The handle on this one is hollow. Seal/race drivers have solid handles.
I knew an Eskimo once who was a seal driver. I saw a seal balance a ball on his nose once, but a race driver, now that's just freaki'n amazing!!! Sorry guys, at least I didn't tell that old ice cream cone joke.
It's obviously a muffler bearing driver; them there for-in jobs have the muffler bearings pressed on I am told ;-) Al (looks like a seal driver to me, guess it's better than clubbing them) in CT
finaginpin Remover which you can use as a Muffler bearing Installer for the expensive ***anium bearings <br> also a bearing Driver just ad the wheels! & tires
i bet it for driving in freeze plugs, you dont need to hit them hard to get them in so that would explain the hollow bar.
what he said but looks like its missing a box of drivers to bad there really nice for motorcycles stuff .
Yap...I agree, they used to use these on NASCAR crews in the 70's on the crew motor homes. but seriously it looks like a seal driver.
there will be a tiny number code on it somewhere. it will have stamped in it KD-??????. get the number, go to auto parts store that sells kd tools. they can tell you exactly. but it looks like a freeze plug tool. cadillac dave
You guys.... It is a radiator mount for a 56 VW bug. See OldFart, you were close! They were that well engineered that it required a tool shop to make them, then they fits sooooo well you just cant see them on a finished one. Its a real SOB when they leak though, ever tried to get off something you cant see? That reminds me, ever been to a restaurant and when the waiter comes to take your drink order you say, No nothing for me. Then they bring you a gl***, WITH NOTHING IN IT! Then you dont even get to drink it as you inevitably spill it all over yourself. Now that stuff stains! Not that you can see it........
K & D made alot of machine tools for model A engines back years ago contact an old model A engine shop and ask before you go hammer on it . RED
