Ok people i'm getting to the stag that i'm going to satin my truck, now i quite like a few dents on old trucks but what do you think?there are quite a few especially in the rear as you would expect being a truck now the question is .Do i keep them all?do i fill and knock them all out or do i fill some keep some?.I'm in a quandry as of what to do.I do however want the truck to look like an old freshened up barn find, what do you think?
The thing's bare metal now, right? I think it's stupid to not fix the dents (all of them) since you're going to so much work on the rest of the appearence. This is the truck with the freshly painted maroon dash, right? Finish all the body to the same quality of that dash. alchemy
You Americans are so spoilt.why because you have steel cars available. Here in the uk most hotrods are gl*** unless they are of brit origin and so a steel yank hotrod is rare.Infact i have seen people tapping hotrods with spanners just to see if they are steel so i thought a good few dents may stop this.My personal opinion is that the truck has taken a lifetime of hard toil to aquire these dents and it would be a shame to take them all out ,but i will wait for the general consensus before i make a decision......Marq
fix all of them and dont worry when you get some in it from daily driving it .a dent in a satin car looks like your an *** hole and missed fixing some thing
Hey Marq, you'll probably get Dooster popping out 'gl*** bodyshells with dents already moulded in soon
yeah recon thats gary's next project morris.I actually like dents in trucks however it's a different matter for cars..........Marq
Dents are fine in an original paint job, especially if it's a work vehicle. They look BADLY when covered by new paint. Do the job right.
Fix the dents....it's not cool to have dents, that's just a sad "rat rod" excuse for not being able to do bodywork.
Dents are like badges of honor, you have to earn them. New paint and old dents is like a soldier handing his medals down the the next generation and that generation taking credit for the action the old soldier had to endure. fix em right
Fix em, and if it was like mine youll be fixing a lot of them. I think the top of my cab carried as much as the bed did. You know its real steel, stick some magnets on it if you want others to know it.
Paul, it needs to be all or nuthin'. My A truck has all its original dents, no bodywork was done whatsoever (apart from the 4" chop) the paint is aged and I like it. I will put some pictures on very soon as it will be road legal later next week! Kerry.
