Curious about these things... If I were to build a street-legal version of a fuel altered (Gas motor, strengthened frame etc.) would the 12? spoke wheels work on the front end as far as legality is concerned? I dunno If I could put a set of brakes on it that would look right, but stupid looking brakes are better than no brakes. -Crew
There is a guy down here that runs them (american racing type l think) with small disc's on his 34 and it looks cool, not dorky at all. Maybe one of the other Aussie's has a pic of the car, it's the dark green 3W 34 with 34 on it's doors.
You could do it. There is BARELY enough meat there... Why not go for the Radir 12 spokes... the old ones are expensive and new would have the brakes and everything. Sam.
Being able to run brakes depends on the whell your lookin to run ... spindle mount or the lug nut versions. I just got some spindle mount americans from a guy that was runnin em on a t-bucket(light). He didnt seem to have any legal trouble here in cali. It runs a sbc(also light) and drum rear brakes(not so good) He says it stopped fine.
The car above, is featured in the history of aussie hot rodding in TRJ about a year ago, when it was full fendered.
There are 10 spoke wheels available that mount to hubs instead of spindles. Those ten spokes look good, brakes don't really look bad... Mebbe I'll go with some of those. Thanks, fellas. -Crew
