Un****ingbelievable I'm pretty sure these thieves follow the carshow schedules and probably monitor sites like these to see who's bringing what to the event. Are we going to take turns standing guard at Cinematic? Good luck to the owner but these things rarely turn out well.
That part of the cities is not the best area to stay in. More than likley it will be found in a alley in North Minneapolis.
There used to be cracker barrel and a bunch of other places to eat just down the street. They tore them down. Most of the buildings that were once a major retail area are vacant. I woudn't stay in that area unless I had armed guards. That car was stolen by thugs. Desperate losers hoping to make five bucks.
Man that ****s. This is happening way too often. The shows are gonna start hurting when people just stop going to out of town events for fear of their stuff getting gaffled. I really think these guys are up on when and where these shows are and probably scope the cars at the show then follow these guys to the hotels. When I was in the military we always had a "Fire Watch". yeah he was there to make sure there were no fires but also to keep an eye out and keep people honest. ****s to think you almost have to post a duty at the driveway of the hotel and take turns making sure someone does't make off with your gear. I know I don't go anywhere without a .45. If someone takes my **** or anyone I knows they better hope I don't hear or they're gonna get a surprise. Learned to do that out of neccesity growing up in So-Cal. Shame to think middle America has gotten that way too. Johnnyboy
I'll keep an eye peeled. Brooklyn Center and its neighboring city, Brooklyn Park are ****ty little burbs. (Fun fact: Famous mouthbreather Jesse Ventura was mayor of Brooklyn Park for a while.) But beyond the tragedy of the theft, who a**** you has an alarm installed in your traditional car or truck? I don't, but I wouldn't dream of parking it in a hotel lot overnight, either.
As much as I love Big Olds, he is not worth shooting someone over with the possibility of going to jail afterwards. I park in a hotel parking lot almost every weekend night in the summer. Yep, I'm thinking it's time for a hidden kill switch cuz I'm sure not going to stop going to events or lose sleep over it.

I hate that this **** happens. Maybe in the future, it will be neccessary for a group of people to p*** the hat and hire a security guard from a local company to watch peoples cars at hotels and other places. Someone has got to come up with a solution. Threads like this are becoming too frequent.
When a hotel or motel is at capacity they can sure hell afford to high a security guard for a couple of nights themselves. I think I'm going to write an "open letter" to the Good-Guys Gazette and the NSRA rag and post my views on the hotels giving back alittle. After so many years of ****** us with their inflated charges they can certaianly do this for us.
this is way out of hand .I think it's time to think about ****ytrapping the cars in strategic spots with razor blades. They might still get the car but they'll bleed like hell doin it
Not collector cars, but in Milwaukee about 100 cars a day are stolen...........the cops are too busy outlining dead bodys on the sidewalks and streets with chauk so they don't have time to look for the *******s that steal cars, or recover the stolen cars. They used to shoot horse thiefs........I'm sure that was a better deterrant than the slap on the wrist thing they have going on now. A holes wouldn't steal chit if other A holes didn't buy the stolen chit! We just have too many A holes in this country.

When I was at my hotel in Joliet last year there were no lights in the parking lot. The people working the desk told me there were a bunch of homeless living in the back field so be sure to check your car every hour because they had had trouble before.I can't remember the name of the hotel but it was one of the more expensive ones so I said at this rate you could at least have the lights working or hire security. They said it wasn't their problem. Put a bad taste in my mouth and really makes me want to think hard about coming back there again.I locked a car cover on it but the next morning someone had lifted it off the engine and rear of the car as well but at least it was still there.As for the cops being too busy to look for stolen cars thats partly true. But when I had my caddy stolen they did'nt even want to know what the color was.I though they could at least attempt to look for it.Never did get it back.
I was bringing my wife's car home on the tow truck, and my friends had a truckload of early Ford stuff in the back of their truck bed. We stopped in Modesto (I think) off the 99 in what appeared to be a ****ty neighborhood. The Motel 6 where we were staying had a full-time security guard. He liked old cars, so he was extra vigilant to our stuff. Also the local cops used the parking lot to take a break/ or as a staging area. There were some bums in the area early in the night, but as the PD rolled in, they rolled out. Maybe the thing to do is ask your hotel/ motel if there is nighttime security. And a kill switch is always a good idea. Of course a shot through the melon takes care of the problem too.

I hate fu*king low life car thieves. They are absolutely the lowest form of life there is other than *******s that blow up cafes, markets and schools. I like Richs idea, a few razor blades welded around to cut the *******s up will help out. Used to keep guys from stealing fenderskirts. A couple years back we had a car stolen from a motel while on the Power Tour. The motel had a security guard on duty till 5 AM, the car was taken after he got off duty. The guys took it while everyone was getting up and the others didn't know the owner so they thought it was them leaving with the car. We had one other car get stolen to have it run out of gas a couple blocks down the road since the guy had a kill switch on the fuel pump. When the carb ran out of gas, the thieves left it there and ran. I doubt I'll go to Birmingham again.
i used to travel for my job and most hotels tell you "park at your own risk were not responsable" which is really ****ed considering what you pay at some places.
the mistake people are making when they shoot a car thief is ..they call the cops to tell them they just shot a car thief..I wont call 911..cars have trunks for a reason.
