    Prayers sent from South Georgia!
My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was just sitting with me at the computer when I opened this post and she asked "Why's that pretty baby at the Doc-Doc's?" I told her that she is in the hospital and she needs our prayers. She joined in with me and I know the Lord hears our prayers, but He definitely heard her prayer!
Keep us posted as Juli improves.

Keep rockin', new born short round..
We keep losing all these greats, Bo Diddley, Chris Gaffney, Boyd Coddington, and countless other greats in my life, but I guess we got enough young souls coming back into the world it almost evens it out.
    You got Elvis's prayers, man.

  9. prayers sent...the power of prayer is amazing...last year my little Gianna was bit by a rattlesnake and I thought for awhile we might lose her or at the very least she might lose a limb but prayers were sent from every corner of the world and we received a healing miracle...I am praying that your little miracle receives one of her own...God Bless you and your family

Prayers sent from Las Vegas... She's beautiful and the Velazquez family can't wait to hear of her progress! One of ours was born 2 months early with lots of issues and we can understand the stress you're feeling, hang in there guys, theres no where but UP to go from here... and trust me after 11 years with my own miracle baby I can tell you you're in for more blessings than you can handle! Congrats! (Mando's ole lady.... MIchelle)

We'll be praying for her and for you and the mrs., that GOD will give you the strength to get through this and that everything goes as wished.

  15. Mike,

I may have met you in person, I don't know. I usually have alot of beer at Denise's shindigs. ;)

I was there the night you had the "lampshade" thing going, and was bummed you couldn't make it to the party.

I kinda know how you feel. My youngest was born with what they "think" is hemangianoma. He basically has purple "spots" all over the right side of his body. He goes to U of M every 6 weeks or so and gets "lasered"... essentially it looks like hundreds of burns on his body. It is supposed to make it go away. 2 years and counting. Half his life.

I know your girl will pull through this, and in time it will be a "forgotten" memory. 'Cept when you get to the jar and the lampshade comes out :)

    Prayers out bro.

    Prayers to you all.

That is the HARDEST wait when you know you can't do a thing.

  17. Fortunately resectioning is a mature and fairly simple surgery that has been greatly perfected over decades and recent refinements in pediatric situations have made it excetionally sucessful . Children heal so well compared to the rest of us that it gives them a great edge . Besides , nobody messes with HAMBsters and you have thousands on your side .
    Best wishes buddy !!!!

Last night was a great night.

No change to report really, other than she is totally off of the oxygen now. [IMG] YAY! And she has started feeding on Momma's breast milk.

The big thing about last night was that she is looking like a baby now. She has a feeding tube in her nose that leads to her belly so her little mouth is free to smile and cry. Last night was the first time I really heard her cry. It's amazing that a crying baby is a relief.

And where each hand previously had IVs stuck in them they were free to grab my finger and squeeze. With the IV her hands were taped to foam boards to prevent her from ripping out the IVs.

Most importantly her eyes were open and my baby was looking at me. :) It was nice seeing her alert and active for the first time. I said "hey Juli" and she opened up her eyes and looked right at me. I could almost hear her say "hi Daddy."

There are less and less things connecting her (physically and figuratively) to the hospital.

Hopefully today is the big day... we get the test results and they say Juli will be fine and gets to come home.

It seems the phrase 'baby steps' is fitting in this situation. Lots of little steps to get to that final goal.

    Keep your fingers crossed.

Nicole will be at the hospital at 10 or so and I'll be in after three. (I had to work a half day)

Thanks again for the words of support and encouragement. I don't know if I'd be able to make it through this with out my friends.

    Mike

  22. done.
I just had a son (second child) about 3 weeks ago.
I passed this along to my wife at home so she could send a prayer your way also.

  23. My wife is due to give birth in 4 weeks - my heart goes out to you and I hope all continues to improve. Babies are much more robust than we think and they recover and start to thrive incredibly quickly.

  24. also a new dad of two weeks with my 2nd son, this strikes very personal.
I have a niece that had similar challenges right out of the gates just a few months ago and I sincerely pray that your daughter sees similar success to our little Addison.
I'm a faith-driven man who leads a faith-driven family and I can assure you we are praying for your beautiful baby girl, as well as her mom and dad!
    God is good!
