How reliable are 2004r transmissions

    I have a 2004r trans, how reliable are they? I have a rattle I need to look into and I'm hoping it's not that.

  3. IF the TV is adjusted properly they are very reliable.
     
  4. I've seen Buick Grand Nationals that will pull the front wheels with a properly set up 200 4R.

    Well sounds like I have a good transmission then. I wasn't familiar with them. I know when I kick it down there seems to be a rattling that occurs. I'm in the process of taking off heat shields and tightening loose object to see if they are the problem. Almost sounds like a bad egr valve. But I'm not running one.

    I had a 200r4 in a v8 s10 blazer and never had any trouble. I think Hot Rod once did a article about the 200r4s.....
     
  7. my buddy just went 11.19 @120 in his t type
    it can hold at least 550 hp with a proper rebuild
