How reliable are 2004r transmissions

I have a 2004r trans, how reliable are they? I have a rattle I need to look into and I'm hoping it's not that.

 

I have one and love it

 

IF the TV is adjusted properly they are very reliable.

 

I've seen Buick Grand Nationals that will pull the front wheels with a properly set up 200 4R.

 

Well sounds like I have a good transmission then. I wasn't familiar with them. I know when I kick it down there seems to be a rattling that occurs. I'm in the process of taking off heat shields and tightening loose object to see if they are the problem. Almost sounds like a bad egr valve. But I'm not running one.

 

I had a 200r4 in a v8 s10 blazer and never had any trouble. I think Hot Rod once did a article about the 200r4s.....

 

my buddy just went 11.19 @120 in his t type
it can hold at least 550 hp with a proper rebuild
