If anyone is needing to refill there tanks it would be a good time to do it. I own Praxair stock and when I was checking the site they said July 1st the prices are going up 10 - 20%. Just a heads up. Keith

They might as well go up, everything else is. Probably because of the manufacture of ethanol.

Sooner or later someone will blame this on the Chinese-or the Iranians.

It is more likely a response to the $5 diesel that their trucks burn in order to deliver cylinders to the stores.

It is probably going up because praxair bought kirk welding supply so they are going to jack the prices because now they have more of the market cornered? That is just what I think!

Might sound strange, but the price of coal, used in powerplants to generate electricity which is used in BIG quan***ies in air-separation plants, is a good part of what's driving the prices up. Argon, CO2, Helium, Nitrogen and bottled Oxygen, both liquids and gas forms, all come from separation plants. Couple that with rising fuel prices, to transport the cylinders, along with the rising price of steel, stainless steel and aluminum, used in making the cylinders and dewars. Then there's all the compliances, training, wages, maintinance, hydro-testing and ***ociated hazmat and delivery fees. If that ain't enough, let's talk about acetylene: Calcium carbide is up 37% since January 1st, then there's everything involved with an acetylene plant, an entire different en***y than an air-separation plant. The list goes on. . . Look for all packaged gas as well as cylinder rent and delivery charges to take a hike real soon, not just Praxair.

I am not trying to stir the pot but, I was thinking. Since most Democrats are tree huggers and trying to save the world. Do they own or drive hot rods? I figure with the emmision, green house g***es and global warming that they would walk every where or drive a Hybrid car.

I am a welding gas subdealer here, I'm still using a Feb, 2004 price sheet! I figure we were getting ripped off bad around 2004 if they could keep the same prices all this time. Gene
