Nova year/model with the different roofline?

I saw one the other day on the freeway and I'm wondering what year and model has the extra line in the roof like it's a convertible, but it's not.

 

Real sure it was a Nova?
The Impala had that roof from 61-64.

 

Yeah, it's a Nova. Yeah, it's got a similar roofline as those Impalers.

All the early Chevy II SS cars had the hardtop roof with the sharper profile and C-pillar. The standard line had a B-pillar and the more bulbous roof.

No extra line, but those are the only distictions I've seen...

 

A '65 Nova 2-door post has a different roof line and a different rear window.

 

Bulbous is a good way to describe it's C-pillar area. Maybe there isn't an extra line, but the bulbousness reminds me of the way the (early?) round-body Nova convertibles look with the top up. It's a round-body era Nova (62-65), and I'm thinking 62-63. B-pillar sounds right; it's not a hardtop. I don't care for the hardtop Novas. It seems that either everyone else likes the hardtops and that's mostly what you see, and/or the standard sedan was fairly rare. I'm not finding any pictures on the Internet. The model I'm looking for also seems to have very little extra **** (trim) on it. Being a spartan model, they probably came with the 4 or 6-banger.

 

The rear window is getting close, but the side profile doesn't seem to be it. Maybe what I'm thinking of is a 62-3 post? It seems I've seen them in both 2 and 4-door, but I don't remember if the one I just saw was 2 or 4, so it could just be the 2-door model. And, they're usually that pale yellow (and maybe beige) color.

 

I'm thinking it's either the Chevy II 100 or 300.

On the ***le for my '65 2dr it was listed as a 400 series. It came with 5 lug hubs, 4cyl, air cooled pg. It must have been a little ole ladys car because it had ac, ps.

Man, you're the one that saw the car, not us. There's not a lot of rare and exotic rooflines on chevy IIs, the pics pretty much cover it. If you can't find an equivalent roofline in 5 minutes of yahoo image search, it's time to question what you really saw. Don't know what else to say........

I'm not sure if you're being serious (as in offended) or not, but I seriously didn't understand why you wrote what you did about being more specific.

 

I was hoping it'd ring a bell for people more familiar with Chevy II Novas. It's not exotic like the fastbacks. It's a stocker, maybe a fairly rare model. The crease/line on the back of the roof looks right, but the profile doesn't seem right.

 

I was'nt offended at all, maybe next time you see this car, take a picture of it, and share it with the rest of us on the HAMB! I'd kinda like to know myself what you saw! Like I said, I've owned one or two of each body style (62 to 67) in the last thirty years that I've been hot rodding and drag racing! I was just trying to help!

 

7-1/2 years later ... I saw a Nova and the roof crease near the rear window must be what I've seen. And I think it stands out more on the light tan ones, and when you're p***ing one. And/or maybe there's a certain year/model that it stands out more on.

What year/model is this one?

 

Had one like the pic above. It was a 65 ChevyII 194 I6. 3 on the tree.
