Just a heads up for somebody. I had 2 rooms reserved but my parents can't make it now. So I just cancelled a room at the Holiday Inn. Cancellation was done online so I don't know how fast they get the memo.

  2. Ok, I am so mad, I could spit nails......last year I took the Lazy 8 and my newly acquired 36 coupe. Had to take 2 because of the kids. Wouldn't have it any other way. Money is tighter this year. Just want to take one car. So this year, I figure to do some up grades on the 36 like add a rumble seat and a back seat for inclimate weather. While I was at it, I would fix that radiator that leaks out the top and sprays the windshield. So I pull the radiator out 2 weeks ago. I take it to some old friends shop that now does radiators. I figure to help out some friends instead of taking it to the company I usually use. Stupid me. So I call today, again, only to find out somebody's vacation will keep me from getting the radiator in time....or even next week, and the radiator is all apart......So what to do? I have 3 options.

  3. Option #1: Take the Lazy 8

Obviously this car is my favorite and I wish I could take it but it only seats 2. Therefore, I would have to get help from other folks to get the kids back and forth etc....to diner, possibly swim in the afternoon, you get the picture.

Don, If I had a flathead radiator I would pass it too ya. Nobody up your way has an extra? Check with Megan she may know someone.

  5. Option #2 is to take my old trusty panel truck. Not exactly hamb friendly nor drive in friendly.

  6. Thanks Bill, but I am throwing in the towel on the 36, too many late nights already....

Option #3 is to take my very not Hamb friendly (although the family likes it) 48 Olds street rod. It could be a display of a '90s survivor rod

    What should I do?

But just think of the kids you can pack in there towards a set of FREE Cokers.

Bummer Don, I loved your 36 last year.

I'm running into the same type of issues. I think I'll get mine far enough, just barely to get there.

Everybody knows your credentials no matter what you bring.

Do whatever is easiest for you and the family. Know that if you end up with the Lazy 8 I can help haul the girls around in my Chevy. :D

I'm still hoping for a miracle that someone will show up on saturday morning offering a ride. All of my friends are going to be busy finishing a car before the 4th of July. Hope you get that radiator problem all worked out.

I'm SO jealous cause we're not going to make it this year. I knew
it would be iffy, but figured something would work out at the last
minute. The Hudson sits on the ready,so we'll set our sights on the
Hamb Drags next. Mothman suit wasn't finished anyhow... maybe
    next year.

Ramblur, that is one of the nicest Hudson 4 doors I have ever seen. I love those cars!

Don, Your luck is almost as bad as mine. I feel for you man. Look on the brightside.....At least you have options! I say bring the panel and go for the Coker challenge. If you don't need them I have a '37 Plymouth that's taking donations!:D

I was wondering if you were going to make it this year but didn't see any posts that you were. We'll see you at the Drags if not the Cinematic.

You do know that you can go to the movie in a modern day car right? You just won't be able to park in the 1st couple of rows with the hot rods.

Yeah, I am just kidding around with the miracle stuff. My dog is recovering from surgery so I have to stay here and take care of him. He's got new knees now!

  17. We left it up to the kids....they voted the Lazy 8 cause the other cars dont belong there.....I must be doing something right! They are hoping to see 2 movies tho.....I too voted for the Lazy 8 cause with the trouble Ryan is having getting there, the last thing he needs, or wants to see is one of my outdated street rods in his show. Besides, I owe him a ride.

Don, take the panel and win the tires. The girls can sit in Big Olds and watch the movie if they want. I just can't haul them around cuz I don't have seatbelts in the back.

Don Anderson took teh kids back for a swim last year. I'm sure he'll be doing it again.

I'd love to see your Olds though

    decisions, decisions:D

Gee, that sounds like the old story of, "think I'll just stay home and eat the egg salad that's about to go bad".

HEY, someone has to eat that egg salad before it gets bad! And just incase you were wondering, I picked the dog up after his first x ray this morning and he's doing well. 6 more weeks!

  21. Aw c'mon anyway. Bring the dog. I'll buy him a hamburger. He shouldn't have to eat the egg salad;)

I have my lights working, I got tags for it today and took the 56 Pontiac on it's maiden voyage just a little while ago.

Still has an exhaust leak (at the manifold end) but I'm afraid that messing with it tonight I'll snap the studs and never get it fixed tonight.

So unless it's absolutely poring we will be leaving in the A.M. It's been a good while since the old Pontiac has taken any sort of trip so are there any cell numbers already there in case she decides to not make it?

    Thanks

Here is a quick link. Rain was a bit of a downer, but if Ryan reads this I just want to say that I'm very appreciative of this show as it's the only one of it's kind this close to me.

I certainly hope it can still be pulled off again next year.

    Sorry, that should fix it.

Just got back to mid-Michigan about 10:00 pm. We had a great time despite the weather. LuckysGal is busy editing pictures as I type. More to come......
