Any of you guys happen to have an accurate cad of a 289-302 exhaust flange? I could really use one especially in a .dfx file. I would be greatful for any help!

    Thanks,

    Eddie

  2. If I had one singe friend with a Ford engine, I'd draw one up for ya. Unless you want to send me a gasket. I'd be embarrased to go buy one.

If you have the dimensions, I'll draw up the file for you.

This is where I loose it on modern tech. By now anybody with a manual mill would be done with making the flanges and maybe welding the headers.

Stainless is a little tougher to work on the mill and when you have more than a couple of sets to make it makes more sense to cut them on a cnc.
As for doing things the old way...dont jump to conclusions. Take a look at my posts I have hand built several entire car bodys and frames from scratch as well as made my own tools to do it with. I just figured if somebody had a file already done it would save me some time.

And by the way if you didn't like using modern tech you probably wouldn't have a computer to post stuff on this forum!

Thanks all the other responses I do appreciate the help.

I like CNC just fine when it's called for. Don't know how many flanges you plan to make. During the 33+ years I worked as a Machinist for United Air Lines I got to cut my share of stainless and some more exotic stuff. Didn't have a CNC then either. My question was only about the time spent looking for the diminsions. Take it back, I did diminsion a Pontiac head gasket once so a guy could punch out some on a CNC punch press. I cut mine on the Bridgeport

Fair enough. I build hotrods and hotrod related stuff for a living and plan to make a about 20 or so. I can do wonders with metal forming but have to say I am lost when it comes to machine work. I have always had a lot of respect for people who can do things that I can't. 33+ years says alot about your skill level. If someone had a Cad file drawn up already it would have been a lot less time spent working on the computer (which I am not good at and don't really like) and more time in the shop making the parts!
