I went to a car show earlier today, and this was one of the cooler cars there: Sounded good to, and had a vintage supercharger on it - a Paxton I believe, but I could easily be wrong. I'm pretty sure the engine was a 312 Y block. Some cool rods there, was well as some non-HAMB cars that were still pretty cool. (Like an 87 Monte SS with 6k original miles on it, kept in climate controlled storage all its life - I kid you not, it smelled like a brand new car inside!) Sorry if this is an OT post. I'm still new at this.
NOT OT! Those old Fords were the scourge of GM back in the day. Nuthin like a supercharger to neutralize a Duntov fuel injection system!
If that car was driven by Fireball Roberts there is nothing OT about it. He was/is a NASCAR legend. Frank
A good squint at the sign looks like "exact replica". Probably explains the tire marks, they duplicated a car in a winner's circle moment that was well photographed. still, a neat car
i saw that at BIlletproof in Florida. its real cool. even had a timming light and trap door to check tire wear on the right front.
Not to burst anyone's ballon, the car is a repro. But it IS competely correct and authentic. The guy is from Central Florida and I see it often. Gary

Next time I see this guy I will get more details for you. Along with this car, which I drool over every time I see it, I really like old race cars, especially old oval track modifieds and jalopies. I attend as many vintage races as I can (find out about) in Central Florida... where you run into guys like Bill Wendt and Jamie Frankland all the time. Jamie did the diff in my street rod 37, too. Not to hijack the thread as they say, here is a pix of one of Bill Wendt's rides. Bill is an old drag racer and there was a recent bio on him in the Goodguys rag. He has owned this deuce sedan since high school... it has "existed" in at least four versions, rod, drag, etc. This is the last one. It has a peppy little SBC in it and it sounds so fucking cool you could just die. I've tried to buy it.... ha. It meets all the vintage racing rules and has some airbrushed dirt and mud on it for the car show crowd. He also races a restored 60-powered midget and has this funky rodentia rod which has been seen all over the place. Crazy old coot. A great many old and famous but not so rich oval track racers now reside in Florida and they still make their ways to the races, in old and famous but not so shiny cool old race cars. Retired racing fans are here too, and they love being able to rub elbows with their childhood heros. Later, Gary
Very few people today know that head-to-head, the 1957 fuel injected chevy WAS NOT the fastest production car in 1957. The paxton supercharged 312 Ford was. The problem: few were made.
Thanks for all the kind words about this car. Alot of the work was done in my shop as I to have a love for old stock cars. We have continued to up grade this Tribute to Fireball as we see and learn more. Along with this car we have a 56 that we are building for Fireball's daughter Pam to have as a daily driver. It's the blue and white in the picture. We are currently building a 57 TBird with an injected 312, A replica of the Battlebird that Fireball drove at Daytona. Also plans to change the 63 into a Fireball replica. As for the DONUTS they were put there by another race car. Yes we drive this thing!!!!!!! Ted
