I saw this on a auction site but thought it was cool. Look at the magic the metalman ( Jeff Medford ) has being doing.

    The ad says
A near fatal wreck flipped the car over a guard rail, crushing the car, which at the time was a strawberry/orange/pearl 1970’s full fendered beast with red velvet interior. Like most of us, the coupe has a good side and a bad side. The original body was salvaged and repaired by master metal worker, Jay Mefford, of Fresno, California.

I see that you are from the same city ... so you may be right ... but I just copied and pasted the text from the ad ... that's all I know about the spelling of his name. He sure has talent :) regardless of how you spell it.

Looking at the "before" and the "now" all I can say is the man has talent, patience, and determination to bring that car back from the dead. very cool indeed.

Ryan frowns on eBay links ... :) and that is why I did not post it ... but I see that someone else has ... :D :D

I did not start the thread to promote the auction  ... just to show what a good metalman could do. I would like to know how many hours the owner had to pay for to get this far along.

    Hey,

You'd be amazed at how fast a 'real' metalman or frame guy can
walk the B post and quarter, and rough out the various panels on a
job like this! 'if ' it took him longer than 10-12 hours, I'd be amazed.
A good frame machine, or a pulling post and some floor pots, a porta
power and twenty-thirty years experance.....a walk in the park!

You could build a pretty good replica of Doyle Gammel's old coupe with that as a starting point. Wonder if Bruce Meyer would let you borrow the origonal so you could get the details right. He's got so many toys I can't imagine him missing it for, say, a couple of years.
If anyone decides to try I've got a virgin L-88 sitting in the shop if you want to replicate that version. I was hoping Bruce would redo the car with the big block when he had it rebuilt but I guess millionaires are too cautious................. RIGHT!!!!

WOW! That's unreal! It just goes to show that Deuces will never die no matter what happens to them. Looks like it has a new door and possibly part of the quarter too. I see he sectioned it out to the middle of the roof, maybe so he could work those pieces on a buck or a piece of equipment. It would have been interesting to see how he did it. I love the way it sits on the stock ch***is too.
